Earlier in the year, the Superstar Racing Experience had announced the names of the drivers who will be driving in the series as full-timers. It included the likes of the 2012 Cup Series victor and owner of RFK racing Brad Keselowski, and the Hall of Famer Bobby Labonte, who had finished 3rd in the last two seasons. Joining these two drivers will be Ryan Newman and also the only female driver of the series, Hailie Deegan.

She had been a part of the past two seasons, but as a part-timer, and raced in a selected few races. But she is more than elated to drive with the stars like Bobby Labonte. In an interview with the SRX, the Thor Sport driver revealed her excitement to be racing in the race as a full-timer.

The driver was asked during the interview, “You are one year part-time, you are a two-year part-time, and now you are a full-time SRX. Why this year?”

To this, the driver replied, “I think the change with the TV schedule and everything that worked around my Truck Racing schedule. It all just worked around perfectly. I am going to be racing trucks on the same weekends so, that makes it perfect.”

She also added, “I can just go race SRX and head over on Fridays to make all other races. I am super happy about that and super happy to be full time and I am looking forward to it.”

The interviewer, in an inquisitive tone, asked the Truck Series driver, “And any tracks on the schedule you are kinda circling as like I really would love to win there?”

Deegan retorted, “I think Eldora is one of those one. It’s a big deal. And I have never raced there before, so if I was able to go out there and just be racing there, would be a cool moment for me, but winning there definitely will be really cool.”

Hailie Deegan in an interview had expressed, “I can’t wait to be running the full SRX series. Ever since I did my first SRX race I’ve been hoping that the schedule would work out to where I could race in it full time.” “Coming back to the SRX series is already exciting as it is, but being able to run the full series makes it that much better. Going into this year I was hoping I had no conflicts and could participate in the whole season.”

The clip of the interview was posted on the official page of SRX along with the caption, She’s back, and now she’s FULL-TIME. Hailie Deegan will take on the full 2023 SRX schedule, with her sights on a checkered flag at one track in particular…”
