When the racing gods threw adversity his way, Stewart met it head-on. Stewart’s unwavering determination shone brightly in the wake of an early setback for Austin Dillon and a spectacular multi-car collision. The incident showcased the grit of the sport as Hailie Deegan and Marco Andretti bounced back with the help of backup cars, proving that the heart of a racer never falters. The pole position was his reward for sweeping the heat races–a feat never before achieved in the SRX series. As the green flag showed that Stewart wasn’t content with leading; he was determined to dominate. Lap after lap, he forged ahead, a trailblazer leaving an indelible mark on the track.

After the race, Smoke took to his social media to share his insights on the race. “Everyone finally wrapped up here at Eldora with the SRX series. Pretty cool night. I knew in the first practice session we were pretty good. Had no idea, you know? It felt like we had a shot with a third, third place starting spot that might be able to win the first seat, but starting at the back wasn’t sure we could get through the field.”

“But winning both heat races and starting on the pole and getting the opportunity to get out there and try to just run clean laps and every restart, we had to keep pushing hard to get that lead back. But Ryan Newman and Kenny Schrader, and Hailie Deegan, who is unbelievable under all three of those guys, kept us honest and made us work hard for us. So glad we got another one in the books and finally got a trophy. This year in the series,” Stewart stated.

As the laps dwindled and the checkered flag beckoned, Stewart’s name blazed across the finish line first. Hailie Deegan’s tenacity earned her a well-deserved second place. At the same time, Ryan Newman’s consistent performance further solidified his grip on the series point standings.
