Competing in any form of sport is always about achieving the top spot. This is what propels the players to improve themselves and put in that extra effort. They surely accept any obstacles that stand between the targeted goal and them. The players are ready to take the extra mile in order to reach the pinnacle of their careers.
But when these competitive streaks take the better of the athletes, the notion of fair play is sometimes compromised. This is evident across any gamut of sports and even NASCAR. There have been endless precedents where the drivers of NASCAR have faced the wrath for their over-competitive side. It was also evident in the Craftsman Truck Series at North Wilkesboro Speedway, and it was the most popular driver of the series that was at the center of controversies.

As NASCAR returned to North Wilkesboro Speedway, the excitement was running high among the audience. However, the Craftsman Truck Series witnessed another controversial wreck. It was Hailie Deegan who was at the receiving of criticism after wrecking Tricon’s Garage Dean Thompson.
It was in the 182nd lap when ThorSport’s Deegan faced issues with getting to the first turn. She eventually crashed into her fellow driver, Dean Thompson, who was on the outside. As a result of which, the No. 5 spun on the track and left a significant amount of impact on his car. In addition, to that Kris Wright, who failed to gauge the on-field incident, wrecked into Thompson, thus adding to his miseries.
This led to the Thompson Pipe Group driver retiring early from the race and also enraging the driver. Noah Lewis released the on his Twitter account, within which his infuriation was apparent.
Lewis’s reporter Claire B Lang asked the retired driver, “So Dean what happened between you and Hailie Degan there? Earlier said you tried to be the cleanest driver and that you feel like maybe you gotta race like this.”
To this, the young driver replied, “Yeah, the Truck Series is, it’s all taken no given. Dirtiest drivers I have ever raced with. Yeah, I gotta thank Thompson Pipes, Tricon Garage, Assured Partners, and Toyota Racing.”

“Her problem is that she was put in that Truck too soon. She ran six ARCA races after some time in the K&N East/west. And they’re doing everything they can to get her on TV. Sticking her in SRX is a prime example.”
“Man was pissssssed!!! Give him credit for self-control, because I bet he had a lot more to say.”

I am a fan of Dean. He had some really impressive runs in ‘22 that made me want to follow his trajectory. Drivers like Dean, Purdy & Garcia deserve more broadcast exposure. Dean belongs in this series. He showed that in Texas. I understand his frustration. He is gonna be alright
