In light of this incident and the fallout, ex NASCAR crew chief Larry McReynolds had his say on the matter.

He said, “I felt like they were two completely different situations. In Turns one and two, no doubt Ross Chastain overdrove the corner and gets into Denny Hamlin. Hamlin wrecks, and over there in turns three and four, the hole is there.”

“As they get to three and four, and then he tries to fill it between Austin Dillon and Chase Elliott. Elliott ends up getting spun out. I understand Denny Hamlin being upset, and I’m okay if you retaliate. But I felt like it got carried away.”

For their sakes, they had better sort out their issues quickly, or else it could jeopardize their title challenges. The best thing for them is to put all of this behind them and start the next race with a fresh mindset. Carrying grudges will only hurt them in the end. Additionally, their respective teams will not appreciate having to repair the cars so many times.
