Earlier, Stewart-Haas Racing driver Chase Briscoe encountered some trouble. As it turned out, the #14 driver was stuck on the road somewhere in South Carolina. According to his post, the vehicle’s u-bolts got bent in the axle. As a result, he was stranded and was unable to get any towing services.

Sometime later, he tweeted, “Update: Going on hour 5 of being stranded waiting on a repairman/tow. Gonna miss the game but the family is all good and that’s all that matters. Gonna be cold in the dog house this week… Luckily I packed a jacket.”
Obviously, he was finally rescued, though there hasn’t been an update from Briscoe since. Nevertheless, one can assume that either a tow truck company came for him or his stricken vehicle. Or some fans on Twitter or passers-by took pity on him and gave him a ride home.
Unfortunately, the latest update confirmed that he was forced to unhook his truck and drive al the way to Daytona. In the end, he somehow managed to get in after midnight. Briscoe even reported that no one has been able to get his vehicle to a repair shop. Luckily, the dealership was kind enough to get him a backup drive for Daytona

What lies ahead for Chase Briscoe?
At the moment, the driver is gearing up for his second career Daytona 500 start. Last time out, he finished the race in 19th place, which is not too shabby for a rookie driver in his debut race. Since then, he has been finishing up and down the order, with a handful of Top 10 finishes. In fact, he has three Top 10 finishes to his credit and will be hoping to build on that.
However, the 27-year-old will be wary of all of his other rivals. This is because he knows that they are all top stars, and will put up a tough fight. Currently, the favorites are defending champion Kyle Larson and his teammate Chase Elliott. Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Penske’s Ryan Blaney, and Briscoe’s teammate Kevin Harvick are also strong contenders. However, the Daytona 500 has proven that it can be unpredictable; this was evident when an unheralded Michael McDowell triumphed at the race last year.
