Racing is not the only sport Chase Elliott loves. Very few people know about his strong passion for Golf. On Dale Jr. Download, the Hendrick Motorsports star opened up about how he just likes to be outside and enjoys playing it. Even in a recent fun video of Coca-Cola where they asked their athletes what sport they would choose to play in the Olympics, Elliott’s answer was Golf.

Had he not been a NASCAR racer, we might have seen him putting a few on PGA tours. Voicing the excitement and extending his love for the sport to the USA Olympic Golf team, he wished them the best of luck.

When Elliott is not racing, he’s probably playing Golf. According to him, his interest in the sport peaked when he was riding for Dale Jr.’s team in the Xfinity series. In the podcast episode, he spoke about his passion for Golf. He said, I love playing Golf. I’ve been semi-serious for five years and probably gotten pretty serious in the last year and a half. I enjoy it. I am still not very good but I do enjoy playing a lot.” According to Elliott, he’s not gotten as good even after playing for years now, and that frustrates him. Taking a funny note, he said that sometimes he feels like he’s getting worse at it. Yet he enjoys playing it a lot.

Currently, in the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Golfing event is underway. Where USA’s Xander Schauffele leads the contingent by finishing 1st alongside Spain’s Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler is the second highest-ranked player on the USA men’s Golf team. He finished 6th in the round 3. Ahead of their final round, Chase Elliott took to X in a heartfelt video to send his wishes to the team. In the video, he said, “What’s up guys Chase Elliott here. Just want to take a second and wish Scottie Scheffler wish all the guys on USA Golf the best of luck in the Olympics.”

Chase Elliott himself would have liked to play Golf in the Olympics if given a chance, as he mentioned in the Coca-Cola video on Instagram. Also answering the question of what game they would like to play in the Olympics, was NASCAR veteran Denny Hamlin, who also would like to play Golf, but according to him, he wouldn’t be as good as the Olympians. In the video, he said, “I have played with some professional Golfers. I know damn well I’m not nearly as good as they are. While it would be a pipe dream, it would be a wish; I would never be able to compete at their level.” Golfing is a popular sport among NASCAR racers.

NASCAR racers who play Golf

7-time NASCAR Champion Jimmer Johnson is an enthusiastic Golfer who frequently enjoys rounds on the course during his leisure time. He has previously showcased his Golfing abilities in celebrity tournaments like the Quail Hollow Championship Pro-Am. Recently, Johnson has significantly improved his game. Only recently he posted on X where you can see him hitting a few puts at Pebble Beach. It was an invitational event where he invited people to play with him for a fundraiser.

Ryan Blaney is also on the list of Golf players. He and Chase Elliott often play together. Previously on the ESPN 101 podcast, he talked about his love for Golf; he said, “I’m a big Golfer. I really enjoy playing Golf. I started, you know, about four years ago. I didn’t really [play] Golf growing up. Wasn’t really in my family and then I just kind of decided I was. I was a COVID Golfer. I picked it up during COVID because it was like the only thing you could do and I fell in love with it.”

Other racers who enjoy Golf include Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Michael Waltrip, and many others. Maybe sometime NASCAR should host a Golfing event with all of them. How fun would that be?
