It is true for the former NASCAR driver: the racing itch does not leave easily, and is evident through the activities undertaken by the Hall of Famer. Tony Stewart may not be seen diving in the Cup Series but is an active participant when it comes to NHRA drag racing.

He has created a strong foothold in the world of racing, but it seems he has a strong competitor to conquer as he issues his warning to his fellow driver, who is being the roadblock on his road to success.

It is a known fact that it was his wife Leah Pruett who inspired Stewart to compete in the world of NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster Racing. 10x NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series winner Pruett is also represented by Stewart’s Drag Racing team. Following the same steps, within no time, the Hall of Famer found quick success in the form of Top Alcohol Dragster race winner in Las Vegas. 

However, it seems that the road to success has become a tough nut to crack for Stewart of late. He issued an ultimatum to his nemesis, Maddison Payne, in a pre-race interview after being asked by the host about his two NHRA Top Alcohol victories, “Still, second in the points right now, getting beat by a girl. I am gonna kick her a**. I am sorry and she knows that.”

“We actually were at the same party on the 4th of July, and when she saw me, she was like, ‘He’s everywhere.’ Like damn right, I am gonna be everywhere all year. So now, there are really cool drivers, half of the class, and the top alcohol dragster categories female, and I am telling you when, you know, you got to go against some of them.”

“Their reaction times are good, and they are awesome drivers but that class that I get to race with are really fun group so I am enjoying my time there,” Stewart concluded.

It is not the first time that the invincible has talked about being defeated by a girl in the race. The former team Cup Series champion had revealed in an episode of Dale Jr Download, that how she was defeated by a 19-year-old third-generation dragster driver and that he was not ashamed of eating the humble pie.

After being defeated by Maddison Payne, Stewart revealed to Dale Junior, “I lined up against a 19-year-old girl. Her family has a big history of drag racing. So, here we go, two rookies, you know, first time for her national finals. I’m in the finals, that’s my first time. Man, this is awesome. I got to run all the runs through the weekend.”

“And going to the finals suddenly and didn’t care if I lost in the race. I was there to get the experience. But I lost by 1 inch. There are 15,804 inches in a quarter mile. And I lost by 1 inch. 2/10,000’s of a second.”

“I saw it wasn’t us. I looked at Maddison and she got down the car and how excited she was. That’s when I thought it was really cool. This is the perfect scenario.”  

Nevertheless, these revelations only assert one thing: Stewart’s unconditional love for racing. He may not be ready to race against his wife but the zeal that the driver shows towards the world of motor racing is beyond commendable. And it is through this work that Tony Stewart has created a profound impact on NASCAR.
