NASCAR recently attempted to attract more fans by introducing its first-ever street race, which was a success within NASCAR’s expectations. However, despite the positive outcome, the race did not generate the desired influx of international fans. In light of this, several NASCAR drivers and team owners have put forth suggestions to address this challenge.
Brad Keselowski, a prominent NASCAR driver, expressed his belief that street races, such as the one held in Chicago, could potentially open up new opportunities internationally. He suggested that racing on different continents could demonstrate the sport’s appeal and attract a broader global audience.
One region that has shown significant interest in NASCAR is Canada, where there is a sizable fan base eagerly anticipating Cup Series races in cities like Montreal. However, a major obstacle lies in the fact that Montreal’s circuit has been hosting Formula One races since 1978, and it is widely regarded as one of the most challenging tracks on the F1 calendar.

Despite this, many NASCAR drivers, including NASCAR chairman Jim France, believe that Canada could be a suitable market for the sport’s expansion. Bringing NASCAR to Canada, however, presents its own set of challenges. The costs associated with hosting a race and the logistical complexities of transporting cars and equipment across the border have been significant factors to consider.
Nevertheless, the growing belief within the NASCAR community is that the sport could eventually find its place in Canada, a prospect that holds great hope for many fans
