The Nashville race was an exhilarating night for Martin Truex Jr and Denny Hamlin. Securing impressive second and third-place finishes respectively, both drivers demonstrated exceptional speed, positioning themselves as strong contenders for victory. However, the race wasn’t all bells and whistles for the two as both ended up having their own battle. As per Truex Jr, this let the win slip away from their hand.

Hamlin made a remarkable start, even claiming victory in Stage 2 at the Music City. However, his pace waned after he, in his own words, “aero-blocked the sh*t out of Truex.” Meanwhile, this didn’t keep Truex from taking the fight to Ross Chastain. Yet, the damage was already done as #19 Camry was unable to pass the #1. Shortly after, Truex Jr expressed his frustration toward his teammate, Denny Hamlin, blaming him for the loss.

In Stage 2, the teammates from Joe Gibbs Racing engaged in intense side-by-side racing, with Denny Hamlin ultimately emerging as the leader and securing his fourth stage win of the season.
In Stage 3, Ross Chastain made a decisive move, surpassing both JGR cars. Although Martin Truex Jr made valiant efforts to regain ground, he couldn’t catch up to Chastain and settled for a second-place finish ahead of Hamlin.
In a recent NASCAR video, Martin Truex Jr was heard placing blame on Hamlin for the lost race, stating, “In the meeting, we can talk about how the 11 car cost us the victory.”
While Mr. Gibbs may be patiently waiting for the meeting to address the matter, Denny Hamlin has already shared his perspective on why he believes he lost the race.

Since joining NASCAR, Toyota has captivated the racing community with its consistent performance and race-winning cars. Among the all Toyota cars on the grid, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr stand out as leaders, with Christopher Bell. However, after falling short of a victory, Hamlin expressed his dissatisfaction, attributing the lack of speed to his team’s equipment.
During the post-race interview, Hamlin said, “I just think we had you know a third-place car, really the entire race I thought that #19(Truex Jr) was a little better, the #1 (Chastain) obviously came on strong there at the end and so that’s all we have with our Fed Ex Toyota.”
