The NASCAR silly season is essential to gather sponsors. Drivers who still need multi-year deals already strive to rope in sponsors in the off-season. With the ongoing sponsor crisis in NASCAR, the same has become all-important. Following the trend of announcing new sponsors for the new season, Charlotte-based restaurant chain Famous Toastery has announced its entry to NASCAR in style. The popular restaurant unveiled its partnership with Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell at the Famous Toastery Bowl game on Wednesday.

Michael McDowell also attended the event and dropped the curtains on the Famous Toastery No.34 Ford Mustang. Being a regular restaurant customer across different locations in the country with his family, McDowell hopped straight into the opportunity to work with the company. The franchise announced its partnership with the No.34 driver earlier in October to create brand awareness and grow its business.

Michael McDowell has had his moments of brilliance in his Cup Series tenure. Apart from winning the 2021 Daytona 500, he was also one of the unexpected race winners in 2023. During the last three races of the 2023 regular season, Chase Elliott was expected to win a race as NASCAR visited two road courses at Indianapolis and Watkins Glen. Elliott could have sealed the deal at the Indy road course but finished second behind Michael McDowell. However, as the new season approaches, McDowell was seen getting heavily involved in the brand’s promotion.

Aside from appearing at the Famous Toastery Bowl to unveil the paint scheme for No.34, he has been present at the franchise’s stores and press conferences and has also shot an advertisement that aired during the bowl game. Famous Toastery has already bought paint scheme positions with Front Row, and the No.34 will don the cinnamon yellow, maroon, and white look during some races in 2024.

The brand kick-started its journey in 2005 and has expanded its presence to more than 25 locations. The franchise has also been one of the fastest-growing restaurant chains and has left its stature as a small restaurant behind. However, the McDowell family’s relationship with the brand goes way back.

Famous Toastery has quickly grown to prominence in the last few years. The franchise was placed on Restaurant Business’ The Future 50 list for two successive years in 2019 and 2020, featuring the fastest-growing small-scale restaurant chains. It also ranked ninth in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Food Franchises of 2019 and has been recognized by CNBC as one of the top franchises to buy in 2018.

However, for Michael McDowell and his family, what mattered was the delicious and quality food that Famous Toastery presented them with. “Breakfast at Famous Toastery has been a weekly staple in the McDowell family household for nearly a decade,” said McDowell.

“Their food is always fresh and delicious, their staff is friendly and very approachable. I’m humbled by this opportunity to partner with Famous Toastery, a company that shares very similar values and beliefs as my own, and I’m eager to introduce their growing brand to all the passionate race fans and breakfast lovers across the country.”

Following the announcement of the collaboration, Famous Toastery president, Mike Sebazco expressed his joy to be able to expand the brand’s reach to a new set of customers through their foray into NASCAR. Being the main sponsor on the No.34 car will open a door of opportunities for the team and could also launch them as a major sponsor in future.

“Michael is a trusted and respected partner in NASCAR as well as in our community,” said Mike Sebazco. “By partnering with Michael, we’re able to pursue our common goal which is to communicate our Famously Fresh message and continue to be actively rooted in our community. This partnership came about organically as Michael and his family frequently visit our Famous Toastery franchises.
