Often at times, NASCAR can be a bit of a bad-tempered sport, especially with multiple brawls. Naturally, a driver would be fuming if he is punted out of a race by a fellow driver. So, with the adrenaline still pumping, they usually seek out their target and start swinging. Many top NASCAR drivers have fallen prey to the red mist and became violent, and it takes a lot of self-control. Notable brawlers include Kevin Harvick, Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, Tony Stewart, and many many more.

Now, there are far too many fights in NASCAR history to keep track of. However, there were a fair number of them that stood out vividly. But, on this list, there was no bloodshed, which means that Kyle Busch and Joey Logano’s dust-up did not make the cut. However, Logano does make a cameo appearance.

Kevin Harvick re-defines flying into a rage

Quite a while ago, Harvick got involved in a huge fight with Greg Biffle. This occurred during the Xfinity race at the Bristol Motor Speedway during the 2002 season. While heading into a corner, Biffle dove down the inside of Harvick and the two touched briefly. This was enough to send Kevin Harvick into the wall and it was game over for the veteran.

So, he had nothing to do than sit on his pit box and plot revenge. Speaking about that incident, years later, he confessed that nobody would have guessed what he was thinking, and neither did he. Kevin Harvick told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, “I don’t know why, but when you’re 25, you feel like you have to make a scene out of everything. At that particular point, I felt like I needed to make a scene out of everything”.

So his first instinct was to leap over the wall and vault over Biffle’s car and grab him by the collar.

Battle of the Jeffs: Jeff Gordon vs Jeff Burton at Texas

This incident occurred in 2010, and Jeff Gordon was absolutely fuming. It all started when Martin Truex Jr hit the wall and triggered a caution. Elsewhere, Gordon tangled with Jeff Burton, as the latter got into the back of the Hendrick Motorsports car and punted him. With that, both of their races were over and there was nothing else that they could do.

Once he was out of the car, he stalked over to Burton, and then the brawl began. In all honesty, the brawl just consisted of the two veterans shoving each other. Fortunately, officials were able to quickly jump in and separate the two before any more fists could fly. According to Burton, the #24 driver drove underneath him, and he confessed that he should have let him go but didn’t.

At the Auto Club Speedway in 2013, Tony Stewart and Joey Logano happened to get in each other’s way. The #22 Team Penske driver was trying to defend his position by moving to the bottom to block. The duo was actually lucky to not crash out, but Stewart did not care about that. As it happened, the incident occurred during a restart and Logano was among the leaders.

Speaking after the race, Stewart angrily retorted that the “son of a b***h” ran him clear down the infield. In light of that, the 3-time Cup Series champion vowed to “bust his a**”. Meanwhile, Logano insisted that he had to block because he was racing for the lead. He was also worried that if Stewart overtook him, that would be the end of his chance to win the race.

Brad Keselowski versus the world

2014 was not a good time to be Brad Keselowski or any Brad Keselowski fan. During the Cup race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, the #2 driver got involved in feuds with multiple drivers. Everything started with Denny Hamlin continuing his long-standing feud with Keselowski. There was an altercation between the two before it was broken up and the latter walked away. However, that did not last long because Matt Kenseth suddenly ambushed him from out of nowhere.

The two of them duked it out between the team trailers for a while. For the second time in barely 5 minutes, Brad Keselowski had to be separated from a driver. Kenseth was mad because Keselowski’s beef with Denny Hamlin unintentionally dragged him into the mix.

On the cool-down lap, the #2 driver swerved into Hamlin’s #11 machine. Then, he bumped into Kenseth and rammed into the back of Tony Stewart. Stewart was obviously not going to take that lying down, so he reversed into the Team Penske driver.

Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison duke it out at Daytona

Rolling back the clock a little, it turns out that even legendary drivers are far from immune. A prime example comes in 1979 at Daytona, and it involved Cale Yarborough and Donnie Allison. The two rivals were tussling for the race lead during the Daytona 500 when the incident occurred.

The pair were side-by-side on the final lap, with Allison leading Yarborough. Then, the latter pulled to the left to overtake and they traded paint. Yarborough then got on the grass, lost control, and collided with Allison a few more times. The end result was both cars heading straight for the wall and crashing out.

Naturally, a furious Allison initiated the brawl because he could have won the race and the crash cost him.
