The world of NASCAR is filled with stories of drivers who have overcome incredible challenges to reach the top of their sport. From Kyle Busch’s early days racing in the Xfinity Series to Chase Elliott’s rise as a NASCAR Cup Series champion, these drivers have demonstrated resilience and adaptability both on and off the track.

Their experiences have taught them valuable lessons about safety, strategy, and focus. These skills are just as relevant to everyday driving as they are to racing. Recently, NASCAR shared a humorous video featuring some of its top drivers offering advice to daily drivers. The suggestions from the drivers ranged from banter to strict and serious tips that could lead to safer road and driving habits.

The video featured a mix of serious advice and playful jabs, showcasing the lighter side of these racing giants. Ryan Preece’s straightforward tip was, “Stay out of my way!” Well after struggling during his days at SHR, he’s finally landed on his feet at RFK Racing. Although he still has a long way to grab a win, he did bag a stage win at COTA last weekend. So, it doesn’t matter on the track or off the track, Preece wants his lane clean.

Meanwhile, Chase Elliott emphasized the importance of looking ahead while driving, advising, “Look ahead. I feel like people really look right off the front of their hood.” He pointed out that too many people focus only on what’s directly in front of their car. Rather, they should scan the road ahead for potential hazards. This kind of forward-thinking awareness is what has helped Elliott thrive as one of NASCAR’s most consistent drivers, and it’s advice that could save many from fender benders.

Meanwhile, Kyle Busch delivered his tip with his signature no-filter attitude: “Don’t be a Jack Wagon.” This advice is particularly relevant, given his recent frustration with Carson Hocevar at Atlanta. Hocevar’s aggressive driving style led to a heated exchange between the two, with Busch criticizing Hocevar’s tactics as reckless. Busch’s biggest pet peeve? Drivers who pull out into traffic trying to make space when there is none. Naturally, Busch took it a step further! He joked that if he were a DMV instructor, most people wouldn’t stand a chance at passing the test.

Michael McDowell kept it serious. His advice was simple yet crucial. “Stay off your devices and pay attention. It’s free.” This straightforward tip highlights the dangers of distracted driving, a common issue on public roads. McDowell’s emphasis on focus reflects the high level of concentration required in professional racing. Split-second decisions can be the difference between safety and disaster.

Hot picks for the Phoneix race weekend

Christopher Bell is arguably the most highly rated driver heading into this weekend. In his last four starts, he’s managed three top 5 finishes, which includes last year’s victory. Defending race winner, chance of a first three-peat in the Next Gen era, conquering speedway, road courses and traditional ovals. If Bell manages to bag the win, he’s got the be the early favorite to lift the Bill France Trophy and the end of the year. And guess what, the championship race is at Phoenix again.

Ryan Blaney is the driver who can foil Christopher Bell’s dream run at the Desert Mile. The Penske star has finished inside of the top 5 at Phoenix in the Next Gen era which includes four runner-up results. The only thing that has eluded him is a victory lane celebration at the racetrack. So, keep an eye out for the No. 12 Ford Mustang.

To throw in a surprise pick, we might just see Kyle Busch snap his 60-race winless streak. He was in the lead pack at Daytona until he was wrecked, he finished P7 at Atlanta. And had it not been for Christopher Bell and late-race caution at COTA, Rowdy would’ve bagged the victory. With just one top-10 finish in the last four races at the racetrack, it is hard to bank on Busch for a win.

As the field gears up for the Shriners Children’s 500, Phoenix promises an action-packed weekend. Who do you think will bag the win this Sunday?
