Home/NASCAR

Most of us remember the name Frankie Muniz from our childhood. And if you can’t remember, then let us remind you that he is the actor who starred in much-beloved productions like ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ and ‘Agent Cody Banks’. But that was then, and now it seems Muniz is set for a new production, of his own, non-fiction and playing arguably the biggest part of his career; a role in NASCAR.

Yes, it seems Muniz could start his own NASCAR team, something his website suggests. But this isn’t an “I woke up one day and decided to-” thing for Muniz. This is because, on top of having a successful career in the reel world, Muniz has proved his mettle in the world of real action as well.

And currently, the Emmy Award nominee is looking for sponsors for his team, “Muniz Racing.”

A message on his website reads, “In 2006, Frankie took a hiatus from the entertainment world to pursue professional race car driving. He competed in the Formula BMW USA Championship in 2006 before moving up to race in the ChampCar Atlantic Championship from 2007-2009. In 2009, Frankie was Fourth in the Championship standings with two races to go before a season-ending injury resulting in many surgeries.”

“Now, 12 years later, Muniz is ready to embark on his racing career again, but this time in NASCAR! You could say “Older and Wiser”, he is ready to take the stock car world by storm. We are inviting you to join as a sponsor and be a part of the MUNIZ RACING TEAM!”

Is Muniz’s racing experience enough for NASCAR?

Muniz began his racing career in 2004 when he took part in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race and finished in seventh place, which he followed up by finishing third in the same year.

He then entered the Formula BMW USA in 2006 and in 2007, he took a step up to Champ Car Atlantic Series. But the best result of his career came at the 2007 Sebring Winter National, where he finished in second place.

But it wasn’t as recently as October 2021 that Frankie Muniz tasted the stock car racing for the first time. The Golden Globe nominee took part in the SRL Pro Late Model Series in Bakersfield.
