An Earnhardt making his name on the racing track is nothing new. Competing in the Restricted class of the Tulsa Shootout, 11-year-old Wyatt Miller, nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr, has earned the pole position and will lead the pack for the final event. His uncle was supportive of him and expressed his pride on social media.

The 39th edition of Tulsa Shootout has witnessed over 1600 entries. The series has also seen the veterans of NASCAR, put their dirt racing prowess put to test. The series also accommodates separate sections for budding racers, and it seems that Dale Earnhardt’s nephew is set to reaffirm his family’s eminence in the restricted section of the series.

The bug of racing is that one trait that has been deeply rooted in the Earnhardt family, whether it was the Earnhardt patriarch Ralph Earnhardt or now his great-grandson Wyatt Miller. The 11-year-old is the son of Kelly Earnhardt, the daughter of the ‘Intimidator’, and sister of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

The young driver topped the points table after the amalgamation of the heat and the qualifier passing points. Feeling proud of his nephew’s achievement, Uncle Dale Earnhardt Jr. reposted the revised table of the points standing on his X account.

It is not the first time that the budding driver has shown his racing prowess. Wyatt has built an impressive resume in the world of Outlaw Kart Racing. Moreover, he is the title holder for the 2021 Millbridge Speedway Beginner Box Champion and also the winner of the 2020 English Creek Dirt Nationals.

Miller will look to win the Golden Driller Award, a highly prestigious trophy and the single-most recognizable accolade in dirt track racing in just his third Tulsa Shootout. Miller’s passion for racing goes back to the early days of his childhood as revealed in a profile feature by NASCAR.

During a profile video future on NASCAR Kids, Miller revealed, “I’ve been begging mom and dad to race since I was like four, maybe even three.” He proudly showcased several winning checks, including four displaying $500 winnings for clinching the beginner box stock points at Millbridge Speedway and a set of checks worth $300 each for winning the National Equestrian Center Coliseum Indoor Series.

With his performance in Tulsa, it looks like the Earnhardt legacy will carry on for more years to come.

Having said that, it will be interesting to see, whether the 11-year-old Wyatt Miller can mark a victory in the iconic dirt racing track, also earn the coveted Golden Driller trophy, and add to the running legacy of the Earnhardt family.
