Ex-NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace has had a fairly long racing career. Admittedly, he has never won a race in his Cup Series career, but he has recorded a best finish of 2nd on a number of occasions. As one would imagine, he would have had a lot of stories from his youth and his racing days.
Recently, he narrated a hilarious story from a time when he was just a teenager. This particular story also involved his brother, Rusty Wallace.
He mentioned on his YouTube channel, “So Rusty says, ‘Hey, to save on hotel rooms, we’re going to leave at two in the morning. Alright we’re going to leave at two in the morning. By the way, Herman (his nickname), you know you’re 14 years old. We’re wore out, you’re going to drive.’ Truth be told, I’m like an Arkansas kid. You know right now to this day, there are a lot of roads in Arkansas that are not paved, they’re still gravel. In Arkansas, people were driving around at 12 years old.”

What happened next to Kenny Wallace and his brother Rusty?
Soon, they left the speedway and Rusty was on driving duty until they crossed the bridge. From there, the younger Wallace took over the wheel and he absolutely floored it. Then, disaster struck, as he spotted the familiar blue lights of doom flashing behind him.

Unfortunately, one of the crew was forced to take the ticket and the fall for the older Wallace. This was because Rusty was “wanted” in the State of Illinois because he never paid his ticket owing to having little to no money.
So while the fall guy was getting the ticket, the rest were peeping out. At the same time, they were trying to not get spotted by the police. When the crew member narrated their exchange, the policeman asked him, “Boy, do you know how fast you were going?”

The man replied, “No sir, I was sleeping.” Somehow, they all managed to get away scot-free and eventually reached their destination, the Milwaukee Mile.
