Following a rather dramatic race at Daytona, NASCAR nation is yet again shocked by another update from the NASCAR world. But this time, it’s not from Cup or Xfinity Series but the smoke is coming from the organization’s third-tier promotion, the Truck Series.
While the Truck Series bore witness to a dominant run from the GMS Racing driver, Grant Enfinger last week at Milwakee Mile. The community also had to bear a piece of bad news from his fellow Truck driver and former Joe Gibbs Racing driver.
Despite making his first-ever playoff with 6 back-to-back 10 finishes, Joe Gibbs’ former Xfinity driver drowned the community in sorrow with his latest update.

Joe Gibbs’ former driver makes a dramatic update despite having a dream season in Truck Series
Matt DiBenedetto’s story is indeed a peculiar one, the 32-year-old who is having the time of his life in the Truck Series with a solid playoff spot has shocked the NASCAR nation with his latest update. Despite winning his only NASCAR national series with Rackley W.A.R. last year, DiBenedetto has decided to not continue down the road with his current team.
The driver won’t be returning to the team, an organization that has fielded him for the last 2 seasons. The 32-year-old broke the news to his fans on social media, sharing the official statement as he details his departure from the team after the current 2023 season.
While the driver is grateful for all the support he received from his team and his fans, saying. “I’m very thankful to have been a part of the team’s tremendous growth over these two years. We’ve shared many accomplishments together such as the team’s first win, making the playoffs, six top-10s in a row, and much more.” He also updated the community about his decision to leave the team.
The statement read, “After careful consideration, I have decided not to return to Rackley W.A.R. for the 2024 race season.” Thereafter he thanked his team officials – Curtis [Sutton], Willie [Allen], and his manufacturer Chevrolet as he extended his appreciation to his loving fans.

“Thank you to my dedicated and awesome fan base as well as NASCAR and the whole community for being able to make a career out of what I love,” wrote the driver in his statement as he concluded his words, expressing his appreciation.

Fans ponder around the news as they speculate what could be the driver’s next move
While the #25 driver’s indecisiveness is evident in his statement. Especially the part where he says, “I’m looking forward to what the future holds, as of right now I don’t have 2024 plans, but I am exploring all options in all series.” Fans quickly jumped onto the scene as they speculated a possible transition, given the driver’s track record in Xfinity and Cup Series.
Though the driver is entering the final race of the first round with a 23-point deficit, his campaign with Rackley W.A.R. has certainly showcased his capabilities behind the wheel. Last year, the California native took the throne at Talladega, clinching his first-ever NASCAR national series race.
Moreover, with his experience in the organization’s top-tier divisions, fans were soon discussing a possible transition into the big leagues.
One fan asked the driver if he plans to take the seat at Stewart-Haas Racing, replacing Kevin Harvick
“SHR #4??!!”
Another user also speculated the same, urging him to go to Cup Series, “10, or 4, could be the 31 or 42. Time to go Cup racing boys.”
