Dale Earnhardt Sr. left such an iconic memory in the hearts and minds of NASCAR fans across generations that it is almost hard to fathom that he isn’t around anymore. One fan stated, “One of the pics that defines Dale Earnhardt’s pure badassery and pure never give up attitude #NASCAR“
Soon everyone else joined in, sharing several pictures of the Intimidator. One of those images showed his heavily wrecked car continuing to drive on. The fan who shared this image also captioned it, “Dale said f* your ambulance, that thing still rolls.”
The Intimidator’s name stuck with him after other drivers who drove in NASCAR around his time stated that his stature and mannerism made them feel intimidated. This was not just off the track, but on the track as well. Nothing scared Earnhardt Sr. and he would walk around with his iconic mustache and almost god-like persona. Drivers like Jeff Gordon, who shot up into the sport and began dominating right in the presence of Earnhardt Sr., often mentioned how he would try to play mind games. However, Gordon slowly started to understand how to beat the legendary driver in his own game. Regardless of how they battled on track for the win, Earnhardt Sr. and Gordon remained good friends throughout.
Even later on, when Earnhardt Sr’s own son joined the sport and started racing alongside him, Junior would mention how he and his sister would remain afraid of their father and that they always wanted to keep him happy.

Fans shared several other brilliant shots of the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion as they took a trip down memory lane.
The picture was from the 1997 Daytona 500 race, after hitting Jeff Gordon and then Dale Jarrett. After his heavily wrecked car came to a stop, he stepped out of it and got into the ambulance. Later on, Earnhardt’s severely wrecked car was visible in the pit lane. The mechanics then rushed and somehow got it back up with tape. Earnhardt was back in the car and ready to drive that beat-up car. Where most other drivers would have called it a day after such an impact, Earnhardt was in no mood to give up.

Absolutely love this! He was definitely my role model growing up. I wanted to be a race car driver like him. Hard racing runs in my blood so if I was racing, I would have it Dales way and kicking ass!
