The predictions and previews all went amiss on Sunday as neither the HMS sensation Kyle Larson nor the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran duo claimed the win in Homestead Miami. The playoff race #8 turned out to be beyond anyone’s guess as the Team Penske Ford and the remaining JGR Toyota went at it for the lead.

The day in fact went from bad to worse for the Toyota camp as 2 of its top-notch drivers got into trouble in the late laps. While Christopher Bell picked up an emphatic win to punch his ticket into the final 4, NASCAR nation was bewildered to see the menacing side of Ryan Blaney who dropped an explicit remark as the #11 Toyota got into the wall meters in front of him.

4Ever 400 turned out to be beyond anyone’s expectations. In fact, the race had an unsuspecting winner, someone who was waiting in the shadows ready to pounce. While the first 2 stages of the race were claimed by Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney, the third that decided the winner was won by Joe Gibbs Racing Christopher Bell who put on an impressive performance.

While the 28-year-old got the team from the verge of a crushing defeat, the #11 and #19 drivers’ fate is certainly an agonizing one. Despite posting the fastest time in qualifying, Truex Jr and his #19 car couldn’t do much. On the other hand, in the late stage of the race, Hamlin looked like he was going for the kill as the #11 Toyota pushed it to the limits.

However, in the 236th lap, coming off of turn 1 Hamlin got into the wall and painfully relayed that something doesn’t feel right, that something feels broken. Consequently, the car was called into the garage after ill fate once again devoured its victim. But what the community’s eyes were Team Penske driver, Ryan Blaney’s reaction to seeing Hamlin go out in such a fashion right in front of him.

Kelly Crandall of RACAR tweeted out the news, sharing the Ford driver’s dark reaction, “f**k you, d*ckhead,” before he added some more, saying, “We’re going to pit. We’re going to get the lead. We’re going to win the son of a *****”

As Hamlin went limping out of the race with his #11 car returning back to the garage, Blaney had hopes of picking off a great race finish. However, JGR’s 28-year-old road racing phenom stood between him and the checkered flag. Bell quickly rose up to the occasion to take back control of the race as he chased down William Byron and Blaney in successive laps to claim his 2nd win of the season.

Bell not only got the team from the verge of a crushing defeat into the victory lane but he also punched his way into the final 4 in the most epic way possible. With karma turning around to bite Blaney, fans shared their take as some foresaw an ugly fallout while others were stocked to see Hamlin go out like that – in the most disappointing way possible.
