Kyle Busch Motorsports’ sale to Spire Motorsports still seems unreal. Rowdy announced the sale of KBM to Spire Motorsports in September last year. Having been the most successful team in Truck Series history with 100 wins since its inception, its success makes it even more surprising. Busch divulged more about KBM’s sale’s effect on him on the recently concluded NASCAR production day.
Kyle Busch Motorsports has also collected seven owners’ championships since 2010, in case you wondered how successful the team was. According to Rowdy, the part he misses the most is interaction with his team members. Having taken up on his goal to drive along with his son Brexton in the same team, his decision has had some positives.

The 2023 season felt like a revival of the vigor in Kyle Busch. Leading Richard Childress Racing onto the track with encouraging wins along the way, the 38-year-old was a championship contender. However, unfortunate finishes and a loss of form late in the season forced him out of the competition in the Round of 12. One would feel that the results might have put him under pressure. But that is barely the case.
Speaking about the big void Kyle Busch Motorsports’ sale has left, the 2-time Cup Series champion said, “You know, I definitely miss the Truck Series team a little bit. I mean, KBM still exists; we’re just racing at the grassroots level with me and Braxton. I miss the people in there and going to the shop and seeing them every week.”
Having anticipated the situation earlier, Kyle Busch admitted, “That’s the part that I feel like I was going to miss from the start and kind of still do a little bit, but it’s also less stressful.”
