NASCAR has had its fair share of wrecks and crashes. However, its cars are not known for their tremendously fast speeds. While Cup cars can go over 200 mph depending on track conditions, NHRA cars can record 330 mph in just 4 seconds. This puts NHRA drivers at immense risk, as we saw recently with John Force’s crash.
The veteran drag racer wrecked violently recently at Virginia Motorsports Park. Dizzying speeds were coupled with an exploding engine as Force rammed into a concrete wall. He sustained a severe physical injury and was hospitalized. But today, his daughter and fellow NHRA driver posted a heartwarming picture for fans.

After his 302 mph Funny Car crash, John Force was crippled; he suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI), a broken sternum, and a right wrist injury. His team shared concerning updates initially, as Force was “dealing with cognitive and behavioral symptoms from his TBI.” This led drag racer Matt Hagan to remind the motorsport community about the dangers of NHRA racing.
But recently, Brittany Force, the injured veteran’s daughter, sent a ripple of relief across fans. She posted a family photo on Instagram of John Force in the middle, surrounded by his loved ones. She initially thanked all the well-wishers. “Thank you everyone for your ongoing prayers for my dad after his accident in Richmond. My family and I have seen the outpour of uplifting words and support over the last couple of weeks and we are so appreciative of you all.”

Nobody is tougher than my dad, and I know it will be everyone’s support that helps him get through these next steps in his recovery.”
