Apart from being drivers in one of the most competitive motorsports series in the world, many of the Cup Series drivers are devout husbands and caring fathers. And it is apparent from their gestures toward their partners, which are often posted on their social media accounts.
While, the world of NASCAR is already accustomed to the support that Kyle Busch‘s wife Samantha, and Bubba Wallace’s wife Amanda show for their husbands. It is Kyle Larson’s wife, Katelyn Larson, who is making the headlines for her unique way of supporting and celebrating her talented husband.
The audience already caught a glimpse of her unique celebration at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. The All-Stars Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway was surely one of the most anticipated races in NASCAR’s calendar this year. As fans wired with bated breath, to see who wears the crown after Jeff Gordon. And it was none other than the Hendrick Motorsports speedster Kyle Larson.
While, everyone at the HMS camp, including Larson, was elated after the results, it was Larson’s beloved who stole the limelight with her distinctive way of commemorating her husband’s victory. It was by shotgunning a can of beer after Larson pocketed the $1 million as prize money.
And this has been a tradition for the Larsons. Katelyn revealed this on an episode of DIRT: The Last Great American Sport, a creation of the FloSports Studios. She shared that the inception of this tradition goes back to 2019, “I told Kyle, when you win a NASCAR race, I’m gonna shotgun a beer. Kyle won at Dover in 2019. They caught me on the boomerang camera shotgunning the beer in the corner. So it kind of took off from there. It’s a fun, playful, you know … tradition.”

Katelyn has been nick-named “Shotgun Sweetie” owing to her maiden name. Apparently, she also sells “Shotgun Sweetie” merchandise.
