Danica Patrick has set her name on a stone in the world of racing. Especially, being one of the few women who made their own name in the world of racing. She has plenty of achievements to justify the pedestal she sits on. However, as a race car driver, Patrick had one ‘Woman’ record that she really wanted.
Unfortunately, that couldn’t happen.
In an interview from 2020, she talked about her retirement and being a woman in a male-dominated sport. He also shed light on one record she wanted to set in her racing career, in not just NASCAR Cup Series but also the IndyCar series. And that record was winning in both the series. Sadly, this didn’t come to fruition.

“If there was one ‘woman’ record I really wanted, it was to win on both series, but … I didn’t. And then I got too old,”

Why Did Danica Patrick Retire From Racing?
After a promising career in IndyCar and then in the NASCAR Cup Series, Patrick announced her departure after the 2017 season. Since then, she’s been focusing on herself and managing her businesses as well as her podcast. But why did she quit racing?

Fortunately, she answers that question in the same interview.
“Honestly, if you want to know why I retired is that what I really loved about the sport is that I loved having hope that it was going to get better next year. I loved being optimistic. I loved feeling like this was the year and every year of my career I felt like I felt that, ‘This will be the year. This team. This crew chief or whatever.’
“But you know, I just felt like that that feeling went away.”
That’s a sad end to such a good career.
