Women drivers have been breaking the stereotypes and proving otherwise for a long time. The NASCAR world has always been welcoming toward female race car drivers. It may be tough to compete in a male-dominated sport, but women over the years have proved their mettle in the sport. Still, a recent announcement by Tricon Garage, about another fierce female joining the sport, hasn’t gone well with the fans.

Tricon Garage is a well-known American professional stock car racing team. They compete in various races like the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the ARCA Menards Series, and the CARS Tour all around the year. The garage is also a flagship NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series organization of Toyota Racing Development.

An announcement by Tricon Garage on Twitter created a lot of buzz among NASCAR fans. The update on their Twitter account said, “Welcome to TRICON, @ToniBreidinger! She’ll make her @NASCAR_Trucks debut in the No. 1 @VictoriasSecret Tundra at Kansas.”

Though the team welcomed Victoria’s Secret model, Toni Breidinger, giving her a great opportunity to prove her talent, fans were not happy about it.

If one sees it as female drivers getting a chance, it might really prove to be good. But fans gave a lot of reasons for not appreciating this addition. The model has long-time experience on race tracks. The twenty-three-year-old started go-karting at a very young age. Fast forward to 2018, she competed part-time for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the #55 Toyota Camry. Along with ARCA, she also raced in Late model races. In fact, she was the female driver with the most wins in United States Auto Club (USAC) history with 19.

Fans, in any field, can make or break someone. The support and opinions of fans do matter. And being liked can go hand in hand with drivers proving their talent. Breidinger may lack in that aspect as she has no wins at this moment to her name in ARCA. Moreover, some fans think that only wrecking is not a skilled game when it comes to racing given her display of wrecks in the same series.

Check out why some fans don’t think she is the right choice and there are more deserving people to take that place.
