Tony Stewart is considered one of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time, but he is also a successful businessman in motorsports. One of his most successful ventures is the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) series. It features a number of drivers, both past and present, racing at short tracks. Earlier this year, SRX went to the Berlin Raceway and it featured current Cup Series drivers Kyle Busch and Joey Logano. The two Cup rivals had an interesting on-track conversation that left fans in splits.
Ever since making its debut in 2021, SRX’s popularity has grown among racing fans across the country. One of the biggest reasons for that is its all-star lineup which sees past drivers go up against current ones in identical cars. Another unique element of the SRX series is the random driver-crew chief pairing. Things have been going quite well and Tony Stewart has reportedly admitted that he has his eyes on overseas expansion in the future.

Kyle Busch made history in the SRX race earlier this year at the Berlin Raceway. He became only the fourth driver in the series’ history to record multiple wins. But this feat was not achieved easily. Rowdy was locked in a tough battle against fellow Cup Series driver Brad Keselowski. The two-time Cup Series champion managed to hold on to his advantage and take the checkered flag in the end. But that is not the only interesting thing that happened on the track!
He shared an interesting conversation with another Cup Series rival while he was battling Keselowski on the track. That man was Joey Logano. The two drivers have raced hard against each other in the Cup before and are often considered rivals. Perhaps that’s why it was annoying for Rowdy to hear his voice from the commentary box while he was racing for the win at Berlin.
“Kyle Busch, Joey Logano up in the booth. You got me here,” Logano said.
“Yeah, little busy,” Busch replied.
“I figured that. I figured I was the person you would love to hear in your ear right now so I’m here for you. I can help spot you along. But what I want to know is how hard are you pushing that thing right now. You played a little cat and mouse with Brad out there, how much you got left?” the Team Penske star asked.
“Yeah, definitely a little cat and mouse right now. You’re trying to modulate your gap but hearing you on my radio, that f***ing lights a fire under my a**,” Rowdy retorted which Logano laughed off.

However, Rowdy did manage to win the race in the end, which is more than what can be said of him in the Cup Series of late. The second half of the 2023 season has been miserable for the driver of the #8. He was knocked out of the playoffs in Charlotte where the 38-year-old admitted that he was not desperate to win.

Kyle Busch had started off the 2023 season on a fantastic note, winning three races in the first half. But since then, things have not fallen into place for him at RCR. After his elimination at Charlotte, the two-time Cup Series winner said that he was just trying to run a clean race and not make desperate moves.
“I was trying to do what the car gave me. I was overstepping that a couple of more times, again, but I didn’t crash, which is good. But if I was doing desperation stuff, I would have piled everybody in turn 1 on one of those restarts, you know, and opened the door up for us,” he said.

The 2023 season has been one to forget for Rowdy. But there is no doubt that he and Richard Childress Racing will do everything they can to be more competitive and yield actual results in the 2024 Cup Series season.
