Recently, it was revealed that Hailie Deegan has found herself a seat. However, it is not in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. After the situation did not work out with AM Racing, Deegan’s future was hanging in the balance. But good news for her, it was revealed that she has joined HMD Motorsports in the Indy NXT series.

The announcement was made on X, where the post was captioned: “The 23-year-old comes over from the NASCAR Xfinity Series and will prepare for her NXT campaign by making her open-wheel debut later this fall at the @FRAmericas season finale at COTA.”

In the Indy NXT series, the driver will be piloting the No. 38 car in 2025, and with this, her long-running task of finding a new job has been taken care of. When Hailie Deegan spoke about her transfer to the Indy series, she explained her emotions, saying, “I am excited about the opportunity and look forward to working with a proven program in HMD Motorsports.”

About joining a new team next year, Deegan continued, “I have much to learn, but I am ready to go. The team brings a wealth of knowledge for me to pull from, and I look forward to soaking up as much of that as possible before my race debut next March in St. Petersburg.”

HMD Motorsports was quite happy to announce Deegan as the president Mike Maurini spoke about her, saying, “Hailie, and especially the Deegan name, are huge in motorsports, and we welcome them to the HMD Motorsports family. Hailie has already been out to the shop and is taking the move to open-wheel racing seriously.”

With a new team in a new sport planned for 2025, Hailie Deegan has found herself racing in the Motorsports world again. However, while the team president and Deegan seem confident about next year, fans believe otherwise. It wasn’t long before the post made its way to Reddit, and that’s where the comments began.

One fan spoke about Deegan’s statements of remaining in NASCAR, saying, “Well, that’s a 180 from the earlier report saying she was focused on NASCAR.” According to this fan, Deegan would make a return to NASCAR as reported by the Racer; however, that was deemed untrue. A return to the Xfinity Series was in all likelihood, quite a far-fetched idea. Her record in the first 17 events led to her being one of the worst-ranked drivers. A move to Indy NXT may just be the right choice for her.

A fan who doesn’t have faith in Deegan’s performance simply said, “Lol, good luck.” The fan believes that Hailie Deegan will underperform in Indy NXT as she did in the Xfinity Series. In her Xfinity Series career, Deegan has managed to participate in 17 races; however, during her time in NASCAR, she managed to achieve the best finish of P15 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

While some fans were pessimistic about her future in the motorsports world, this fan believes that she can achieve greater things. The fan’s comment read, “I can see it now…..’The Indy NXT series is not a good showcase of her talent. Put her in the Indy 500.'” This fan believes that Hailie Deegan should not be in the NXT Series of IndyCar instead should be taking the major leagues based on her performance in ARCA.

One fan who happens to be a father of two daughters chimed in with good words for Hailie Deegan. Not only did he wish her the best, but he also explained how his daughters would be more interested in Motorsports if there were more female drivers like Deegan. The comment read, “Wish her the best. Good luck. As a father of 2 young girls, I wish we had a female in the sport who was decent. My girls ask me almost every race if a girl is in it. I usually say no. I think they’d be much more interested if there was.”

This fan brought up a controversial article by ‘The Racer’ which stated that Deegan would like to make a return to NASCAR. However, by joining IndyCar, it seems like the chances of that happening are slim. In the comments, the fan posted, “So that Racer article was a lie, lol.” The article that the fan referenced has been taken off The Racers’ website as many fans started holding them accountable for supposedly spreading misinformation.
