NASCAR driver and team co-owner Brad Keselowski recently went on to Twitter to share what he thought was a unique innovation that would change the future of how fans viewed NASCAR races. However, he was soon shut down by fans who stated that the same technology had been there in Formula One for a long time now.

Keselowski flaunted an all-new point-of-view helmet camera, which he wore while out on track. In his Tweet, he mentioned, “This is what the future looks like for @NASCAR. A camera that shows the unique POV from my eyes. This innovation was able to come to life because of @RFKracing and our partnership with Racing Force Group. I’m excited to see all the cool things we can do next.“
While Keselowski was calling it an “innovation,” half the world had already seen this piece of tech being used in Formula One by the drivers. Plus it was nothing new either, the hamlet cams had been used in F1 for a pretty long time now. Fans soon clamored over Keselowski’s tweet and let him know that such a thing already existed.
Fans react to Brad Keselowski’s new helmet camera
Fans pointed out that it was not just F1 but several other forms of motorsports that have experimented with this format of camera placements. Some of the footage shared by the fans dates all the way back to the early 2000s.
Fans stated,
Isn’t this just the same thing that F1 drivers have had all year? Not really an innovation.
