Fans Ruthlessly Bash NASCAR for Bubba Wallace’s “Participation Trophy” Celebrations

Riding the hype of the superspeedway race at Nashville, NASCAR’s promotional effort terribly goes off the track as fans bash 23XI Racing‘s Bubba Wallace mercilessly despite his career milestone.

Despite being a prominent face in NASCAR’s top tier division, #23 driver, Wallace has sort of garnered quite a bad reputation among many fans, and the organization’s latest tweet can be a perfect example of the driver’s shaky relationship with the fans as they shamed Wallace, tagging him with an appalling moniker.

Over the years, the 29-year-old has had a sort of love-or-hate thing with the fanbase. Though he has been at the wrong end numerous times, Denny Hamlin‘s NASCAR driver has often bounced back from the bottom. But this time, there’s no escaping frenzied fans as they present to him the “participation trophy” despite the career highlight.

Sunday’s Ally400 at Nashville Super Speedway will highlight Wallace’s 200th Cup series race start. Despite starting his Cup career back in 2017 at Richard Petty Motorsports, filling in as Aric Almirola’s replacement, Wallace as mentioned earlier has had a rollercoaster for a career, being the only African-American driver to race in NASCAR’s top promotion.

Wallace then showed his talent in 2018 when he came as the runner-up at the iconic Daytona 500 and with 9 top-10 finishes from 2018 to 2020. While his swagger and ability to gather speed in speedways landed him the full-time role as a driver at 23XI Racing, Wallace’s road has been a rough one with several major bumps along the way.

And NASCAR’s latest tweet is a perfect example of this, lauding his 200th race start, NASCAR put out a tweet that went off the rails as fans dubbed it “Participation Trophy.” Fans literally went on a rant, bashing the driver left and right.

A fan also highlighted Wallace’s awful milestone, “and one of the lowest win to start ratios. Congrats tho? I guess?”

While others wrecked the driver unapologetically,

“Most woke driver”

“Participation Trophy.”

Whereas another fan brutally roasted Wallace as he commented, “In the back of the pack!”
