The NASCAR Xfinity Series is all set to kick off at the Daytona International Speedway on February 15th. Now that it is just a few weeks away, official announcements have begun and fans cannot keep calm but witness the unfurling, one at a time. The name that has been making rounds without any official conjecture at the moment is none other than Brandon Jones.
Jones had a fresh start under the Dale Earnhardt Jr team in 2023 when he drove the No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet. However, the season did not turn out to be very favorable. Not only 2023, but the year 2024 also turned out to be highly uneventful for the driver and he was winless with only 8 top-tens and 1 top-five finish. In the final standings, he finished in 14th position. However, it seems as though fate might be finally favoring the Atlanta, Georgia native.
If rumors are to be believed, then he will be joining Joe Gibbs again for the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series. Jones had quite a good run with Joe Gibbs Racing from 2018 to 2022. He ended up winning five races and his peak moment came at the Martinsville Speedway when he won the pole and led 98 laps.
However, all of this is currently a conjecture with no solid announcement about whether he will be joining the team or not. The Reddit post showcased Brandon Jones standing beside an unknown entity with his hand resting on his shoulder. The post had a big yellow card on his face which read, “Guess who”? Only time will tell if Brandon Jones is set to reunite with Joe Gibbs Racing, but fans eagerly await confirmation to see if he can reignite his career with the team.

While it is still not official whether it is Brandon Jones is making it to the 2025 line-up, fans have already started to put forth their understanding of the same. Jones had been unable to make it to the NASCAR Xfinity Playoffs for the second time in a row and for a lot of fans. This signifies that he is incapable as a driver. Citing how it might be his dad’s money that has helped him get to this point, a fan commented, “In other words, JGR needs his dad’s money so you can have your ride back”.

Given that Jones’ father is JR Jones, CEO of Rheem Comfort and a sponsor for Joe Gibbs’ Racing, another fan pointed out, “With his family money I’m surprised he hasn’t ended up in the Cup. Not amazing in Xfinity but neither was Herbst”.
Brandon Jones’ performance has not been quite up to the mark and this has been a trigger point for fans alike. Citing the same, a fan commented, “It does look like that. Odd choice considering Brandon Jones has wins in the 19. I knew Brandon Jones drove the 20 in a test but thought surely he’d be in the 19 next year but now it appears he’s in the 20. So I guess the 19 is the all star car? My guess is that the mystery guy is Jeff Meendering who was Jones crew chief for his past success at JGR”.
Not only that, fans have shown how much they are not excited if Brandon Jones is the name. The fan commented, “The dude needs to quit. He hasn’t had success in arguably the two best cars in the field”.

However, there are fans who are speculating on some names other than Brandon Jones. Sharing the names of those who think are his probable option, a fan said, “Paul Menard or Ty Gibbs is my bet. I’d prefer Paul, but the irony of Ty is not something to deny”.
