The Super Bowl is considered one of the most exciting and prestigious spectacles in the entire sporting world. It is also an event for which brands and companies prepare some of their finest commercials, for all the obvious reasons. However, McDonald’s recent attempt at the same, a commercial that included heavyweights such as Kanye West and Bubba Wallace, was a big miss.

The 30-second ad that featured icons like Kanye West and Bubba Wallace could manage what a toddler can manage, only here it was prolonged for quite some time.

Now, this was something that fans of both West and Wallace, and the consumers of the fast-food joint weren’t really expecting. Rather, they were displeased.

Judging by some of these comments and reactions, one wonders whether fans were assuming a different announcement. An announcement that seemed to be surrounding Dogecoin, a crypto coin.

Regardless, McDonald’s neither announced what was expected nor did they get pleasing reactions from what they served.

In December 2021, 23XI Racing announced they were extending the McDonald’s sponsorship of Bubba Wallace “for multiple races.”

Speaking after this announcement, Wallace said, “McDonald’s has really stepped up over the years and played a large part in my career.” He described how taking the brand to the victory lane for the first time since 1994, along with his first Cup win, was “really special.”

Looking ahead to the future of this partnership, the 23XI driver said, “I’m excited to continue to build on our relationship and get the 2022 season started with McDonald’s on our Camry TRD for the Daytona 500 – hopefully with another trip to Victory Lane.”
