Richard Childress and Kyle Busch just held a press conference where the former announced the confirmation of Kyle Busch to be racing for his team from 2023 onwards. During the same conference, Childress also compared Busch to the likes of seven-time NASCAR Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt Sr.

During the conference, a question was asked, as to why would Childress prefer to have Kyle Busch over any other driver.

Hearing the question, he responded, “You Know my question would be why not.” He then went on to say, “A driver who has won two championships in the Cup Division, over 200 races in NASCAR, his credentials speaks well for himself.”

“But when I was up there with Kyle and we first started talkin’ and we talked about championships and we talked about winning races, I looked at him in his eye and I’d seen that look in Dale Earnhardt Sr’s eyes.”

He also stated, I think Kyle Busch has that modern-day style that Dale Earnhardt had.”

Later on when Kyle was asked how did he feel about Richard comparing him to the legendary Dale Earnhardt, the two-time Cup Series champion stated that he was flattered by the comparison.

Childress remained highly appreciative of Busch throughout the rest of the press conference.

Fans went berserk after Childress drew that comparison. Many seemed to be in agreement with the thought. Moreover, a lot of fans argued that Busch deserved to be in the number 3 since he would do justice to the heritage of that racing number in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Some fans also stated how it would be amazing to see a Budweiser-sponsored car livery for Kyle Busch.
