If anyone thought that Hendrick Motorsports had a bad 2023 season, it was much worse for Stewart-Haas Racing. Tony Stewart’s team is firmly aware that they have to pull up their socks. The first step to reinventing itself is a new brand identity and a new logo. Unfortunately, a fair number of fans were a bit apprehensive about this. They believe that the organization is looking in the wrong direction for the revamp.
Recently, Tony Stewart posted a message that promised better fortunes. He started by calling out the doubters and declaring that they did not know the team at all. According to Tony Stewart, he and Gene Haas actively ‘seek’ out challenges. The two parties joined forces in 2009, and some questioned the move. Especially considering that the driver was leaving a championship-winning team to go to SHR.

Unfortunately, given the woes that the team suffered in 2023, fans would need a lot more convincing. One person wrote on Twitter, “Fast Race Cars and get out of that damn dragster. Tony you’re retired. Be shop manager and serve your sponsors. IMO“.
Another said, “Doesn’t change the fact your cars are slower than cars in the 1920s”. Finally, another admitted, “You guys keep tweeting the same stuff because people are criticizing the team and the driver lineup“.

Last year, neither of the four Stewart-Haas Racing cars won a single race. The only saving grace was when Kevin Harvick somehow managed to sneak into the playoffs. Sadly, he ended his final NASCAR Cup Series season with no wins under his belt. Additionally, the team has also lost Aric Almirola, who has also retired from Cup racing. With Chase Briscoe and Ryan Preece still sticking around, SHR has a relatively inexperienced squad.

As mentioned before, Briscoe and Preece have to lead from the front. Alongside them will be two recruits, Noah Gragson and Josh Berry. Considering the caliber of the team, there will be a lot of pressure on Stewart-Haas Racing. Tony Stewart and the organization know that they no longer have a solid, dependable driver like Kevin Harvick. Frankly, the team is capable of winning Cup Series titles, and there is definite proof in Harvick and Tony Stewart himself.

Unfortunately, in recent campaigns, the organization has been far from its championship-winning form. The last time it was a genuine contender for a championship was in 2020. On the bright side, all of this revamping could lead to a fresh start. Briscoe, Preece, Berry, and Gragson are all talented drivers and could lead SHR into a new era. To make matters even better, the team also has access to a brand-new Ford Mustang.
