Bubba Wallace, a NASCAR driver no stranger to controversy and public scrutiny, recently stirred up a fresh wave of criticism. This came after his second-place finish at North Wilkesboro, where he was seen making a crude gesture while on live television. Even though Wallace might not have intended any harm, the incident was negatively received by many fans who questioned the appropriateness of such behavior on national TV.

In the aftermath, Kyle Busch‘s latest rival stepped forward in a recent interview to support Wallace, despite the contentious incident. This, however, was met with a fresh surge of disapproval from fans who expressed their disagreement and dissatisfaction on social media platforms.

Reflecting on Bubba’s character and conduct, Busch’s rival, Corey LaJoie had some supportive remarks. He said, “Nobody shows their emotions good or bad as often or as evident as Bubba. That’s why some people hate him, that’s why some people love him. I love the guy. I’d take a bullet probably [for him] … I’d take a bullet for him.”

LaJoie then shifted his focus toward Bubba’s post-race demeanor. “So Bubba gets out. Just run second in the All-Star Race. He’s feeling good. He’s pumped up like. you know, like Bubba, you can just see him lighter on his feet after a positive day. And he’s like, you know, like bubbly and he’s got the comments, right?”

In the end, LaJoie seemed to cherish Bubba’s authenticity, even if it led to unexpected moments. “First thing he said when Jamie stuck the microphone in his face like he’s got the louvers or whatever. He says that as a joking, right but that’s just like, that’s Bubba man. Like let’m be. Let him be him and let him like being him is tossing, what he probably considers an inconspicuous bird, even though it’s on national television. People are gonna pick up on that…”

Others urged Wallace to consider his public demeanor. A third individual stated, “Being himself is just fine. Why can’t he do that without being disrespectful? The jab at HMS about cheating without any proof is also disappointing. If you’re not fast enough to catch them, just say it.”

Voicing a similar sentiment, a fourth fan chimed in, “Corey, Bubba brings a lot of his misery on himself. There are things you don’t do on TV, obscene gestures is one of them!” Concluding the barrage of criticism, another fan stated, “Grown men should know when to contain their emotions and be professional.”
