A big subject of conversation in NASCAR has lately been the penalties and things around that area. A big subject of conversation in the recent episode of Dale Earnhardt Jr and Denny Hamlin’s respective podcast shows around this big subject of conversation was the discussion of NASCAR bringing the ‘good old days’ whenever a team was found guilty of violating the rules.

It was Hamlin who had put asked for more clarity and transparency, how it used to be back then as NASCAR would display the confiscated parts for everyone.

Junior, on the other hand, had a different take on it than the #11 Joe Gibbs Racing driver whose penalty appeal was upheld, leaving him 25 points and $50,000 short for intentionally wrecking Ross Chastain in Phoenix.

NASCAR Fans wonder if Hamlin & Earnhardt helped in bringing back the good old days

According to Bob Pockrass, NASCAR will now do exactly what Denny Hamlin asked of them. And no, it isn’t what his fans must be thinking, not that. It’s that “NASCAR will start displaying confiscated parts at the race track for teams to see.”

This announcement led many fans to wonder if the governing body actually took this suggestion from Hamlin’s Actions Detrimental and Earnhardt Jr’s Dale Jr. Download.

While Denny Hamlin asked on his podcast, “Why can’t we be transparent?”, Earnhardt Jr. claimed he didn’t think bringing back the part where NASCAR displays confiscated parts for everyone would be a good idea.

The Hall of Famer clarified that the parts weren’t actually put out on a table apart from a few occasions, but rather would be kept in a hauler for anyone who wishes to come and see them.

“It wasn’t NASCAR grandstanding and saying, ‘We got you. Here’s all your stuff. Everybody come and look what they did to their car,’” he added.

Junior also added that he thought this idea was “silly” and could cost NASCAR big time.
