2023 so far has been nothing but a never-ending nightmare for Aric Almirola and Stewart-Haas Racing in general. As we pass Stage 2 of the third Monday race this season at New Hampshire, the veteran driver has once again fallen victim to bad luck and his losing streak continues to haunt the veteran despite winning here at New Hampshire 69 races, several years ago.

Despite being at the forefront of the pack, fighting and taking the lead in a major stride, bad luck, or perhaps negligence, has followed Almirola as he spun off the track entering the turn.

We all love a good underdog story. And that’s what we hoped to see when we saw the 39-year-old veteran Aric Almirola taking the lead for Stewart-Haas Racing. However, his reign at the top was short-lived—in fact so short that it drowned many SHR fans in misery.

After a close battle with fellow veteran Martin Truex Jr of Joe Gibbs Racing, Almirola pitted in lap 164 of stage 2 for a 2-tire change. But little did the driver know he was in for a spin, a literal spin. The poor and lousy pit stop from the #10 team sealed the deal as the right rear tire came right off after a few laps on lap 169.

And making things worse was the timing, the lug nut came right off when Almirola was entering the turn, causing the #10 car to lose control and crash into the outer wall, ending his seemingly impossible Cinderella story in a flash.

Seeing Almirola wrecking out again, fans did not shy away from expressing their frustration seeing the SHR team literally wrecking their own driver.

One fan commented, “SHR can’t get out of their own way can they”

While another fan underlined the obvious, “Sums up SHR this season.”

Another fan cried out his frustration, “Unreal. Aric Almirola and the 10 team with their once in a while wonderful day and a tire issue ends it.”

Whereas another fan vented out his frustration, That just about summarizes Aric Almirola’s season thus far #NASCAR”

With the on-track cameras picking up the nut flying off the tire of the #10 car another fan cried out unacceptable negligence from the crew.

“What a joke. He should fire every single one of them. Totally unacceptable. Screw the race, he could have been seriously hurt.”
