Denny Hamlin is renowned across the sport for his iconic FedEx paint scheme-wrapped cars that run around in circles in the NASCAR Cup Series. However, his team, Joe Gibbs Racing, recently posted a picture on social media depicting all the versions of liveries he had this year. It disappointed fans at JGR for being lazy with their nearly identical paint scheme roster.

Joe Gibbs Racing took to Twitter to share the picture of Denny Hamlin’s liveries, with the caption reading. “There were 11 different schemes for the No. 11 in 2022.”
However, as it turned out, the first four images were almost identical to each other. They probably had a few tiny sponsor decal changes, most of which were not visible to the naked eye.
NASCAR fans react to the liveries posted by Joe Gibbs Racing
Fans called this to be blatant laziness on Joe Gibbs Racing‘s part. They were quick to point out that the team practically claimed to have added four extra paint schemes to their roster, whereas they looked perfectly identical to one another. Joe Gibbs Racing almost played ‘spot the difference’ with their fans in this post.

One fan stated that he could only count seven of them and suggested that the changes in sponsor decals don’t qualify as a completely different paint scheme. Another mentioned that the first four were basically depicting all the various departments of FedEx.
I only count 7. Changing some sponsor decals does not constitute a “different” scheme.

Perhaps the first four images only had slight changes, and JGR just blatantly decided to call them “different” paint schemes. They could have made the whole thing easier on themselves had they just mentioned that major paint scheme changes throughout the season.
