Fans Back Danica Patrick Despite Severe Backlash Over ‘Political’ Instagram Post

Very few female drivers have been as dynamic as Danica Patrick. Whether in terms of racing or expressing her unapologetic views, the former NASCAR driver remains an icon to look up to. However, it seems that the driver was recently at the center of debate in the racing community after her appearance at Turning Point.

Danica Patrick hardly has time to heave a breath of relaxation after being engaged in a plethora of activities. One such is her podcast, Pretty Intense. Nevertheless, speaking of the recent public outcry over her appearance in the show bashing her ideology, it seems that she still has her loyal followers by her side and is defending her choices.

Danica Patrick enrages the racing community after attending Turning Point

Patrick recently attended Turning Point USA with her sister Brooke Selman, and since then, the driver has been the point of discussion. She posted glimpses of the day on her Instagram profile with the words, “Sister came to town to check out @turningpointusa with me! Dad replied to our pic with – perfect daughters. We do love our country…. so AMfest (America fest) makes sense.”

However, the post seemed to have triggered, the online community bashing Danica Patrick for her political stance and her attending of the show. As a result, the former Indy driver had to put up another post, as she tried to clarify the air. She wrote, “Y’all are losing your d*mn minds over my turning point post…”

“Here is where I stand with SOME current issues and politics. I am not a liberal. I am somewhere between republican and independent. I think our country should be run by someone that knows business and has integrity. I believe we should be able to speak freely.”

“I love this country, and I have lived in other places. I believe when people of different opinions speak face to face we realize we are more similar than different. I don’t believe everything anyone says. I have been very torn over the years if I should give a s**t about politics or just live the life I want as an example. I have been doing the ladder. The reaction today is definitely interesting… since all I said was, I love this country.”
