Despite being 61 years old, Kenny Wallace is more energetic than ever. Whether it’s the coffee or just his infectious personality, the veteran driver remains involved in the motorsports world by competing on dirt tracks or serving as an analyst on Fox Sports. He also hosts the popular ‘Coffee with Kenny’ and the ‘Kenny Wallace Show’ on YouTube. Accompanying him is his trusty mug, which has become somewhat of a trademark while he speaks in front of the camera.
In the past, Wallace’s mug has featured photos of himself, or his kids. However, the nine-time Xfinity race winner showcased his new multi-billion dollar sponsor while sipping on coffee in his latest Instagram post.

Every Monday morning, Kenny Wallace prepares a cup of coffee, flips his camera while sitting on his couch, and speaks to fans about the latest happenings in the world of NASCAR. Sensing an opportunity for collaboration, several fans badgered the veteran racer to get a sponsorship for his coffee mug, which is always visible on the screen. Ultimately, the 61-year-old gave in, and quickly secured a deal with $7.21 billion sponsor Sunoco, thanks to Fred McConnell, a senior marketing executive from the company.
Sharing the news with his loyal fanbase, Kenny Wallace said, “Happy Monday morning everybody! Drinking my high-octane coffee fuelled by Sunoco. How about that? I love it! All because of you, this was all your idea. You would say to me, Herman, as much as you hold that coffee mug up, you ought to get a sponsor for it. I want to say thank you to senior executive of marketing Fred McConnell.”
The announcements didn’t stop there! Wallace also revealed that Jegs High Performance, who has sponsored the Missouri native throughout his NASCAR career will continue to be involved. Revealing the news, the 1989 Busch Series Rookie of the Year said, “Jegs is still going to be an associate sponsor on the dirt car and they will sponsor all of our YouTube content.” Having spent 26 years in the stock car racing series, the veteran has now switched to dirt tracks as a hobby, while sharing his thoughts on the NASCAR world through social media.

Roping in a sponsor as big as Sunoco is a big achievement for Kenny Wallace. The racer has won the Most Popular Driver award thrice in his career (1991, 1994, and 2006) and his fans played a crucial role in bringing about this opportunity. Recalling the conversation that led to the partnership, Wallace said, “I’m down there in Crescent, Texas, driving those rush road course race cars and Fred says to me, ‘I see all those people teasing you, saying Eh Herman, you ought to get sponsor on that coffee mug for Coffee with Kenny.’ I said, yeah, you know what? Sunoco logo sure would look good on that coffee mug and here we are.”

Kenny Wallace has plenty to look forward to next year. Sunoco’s sponsorship has opened plenty of avenues for the veteran to explore for 2025, and he plans to do exactly that. Having spent 25 years in NASCAR, Wallace understands the value of having a multi-billion dollar corporation having his back, and he’s keen to make the opportunity count, not just in front of the camera but also on the racetrack.
This isn’t the first time Wallace has worked with Sunoco either. “I’ve been running Sunoco blue 112 race fuel in my dirt car since the beginning, so this is easy. Sunoco blue 112 high octane fuel baby, here the logo is on the coffee mug,” said Wallace. Kenny Wallace has been an avid dirt racer ever since his stock car career finished and will look to rock the Sunoco blue once again as he reveals the extent of their sponsorship.
After revealing that the brand’s logo will be featured on his coffee mug, Wallace said, “Listen, it’s not going to stop there! Sunoco is going to sponsor Coffee with Kenny right here but they are also going to sponsor the complete dirt car in 2025. Yes, I’m going to wear the Sunoco fire suit. Like my wife said, boy, that’s a pretty dirt car, and I agree. So excited! In 2025… I’m going to drive for Nick Hoffman. I’m going to drive one of those fast elites, just like last year. The Sunoco colors are going to be on that car.”

Having found the transition from NASCAR to grassroots dirt racing far from easy, Kenny Wallace will be hoping that Sunoco’s involvement will ease his motorsports journey. Earlier, the veteran had recounted a painful reality of competing in local events, going on to say, “When you are a NASCAR driver, and you try to go race these guys on a local level, they do not like it.” Despite his age, the Missouri native wants to continue living life in the fast lane for as long as possible, while using his social media platforms to speak about the sport he loves with his loyal fanbase.
