The former NASCAR star, Kasey Kahne, has thrilled the motorsport fans. The Enumclaw native will once again compete in Kyle Larson’s High Limit Racing Series. This is a sprint car series launched in 2022. Larson co-founded this series with Brad Sweet, his brother-in-law and five-time World of Outlaws champion.
Kasey’s return has sparked excitement among his fans, who have been waiting for his return to the dirt tracks. At 17, Kahne started racing open-wheel sprint cars at Deming, Washington. After a storied career at the top level of the sport, he retired from NASCAR in 2018 and transitioned to dirt racing. But why did he step away from NASCAR?
From NASCAR to Dirt Racing

During his career in NASCAR, Kahne secured 18 Cup Series wins, 93 top finishes, three Coca-Cola 600 titles, and 27 pole positions over 15 years. During the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway, Kahne experienced serious heat exhaustion during the race. It was later revealed that his body struggled to regulate heat during intense events. Considering the major risk to his health and consulting with doctors, in 2018, he decided to step away from NASCAR. But his passion never waned, and he remained active in the sport.
He participated in dirt track events like World of Outlaws, where his team Kasey Kahne Racing are six-time champions. In dirt racing, he has substantial experience, as he progressed to Skagit speedway, in Alger, Washington, and then United States Auto Club (USAC) series. Apart from this, Kahne also won the season opener at William Grove Speedway.
Seeing his extensive love for the sport, we can see why he is the fan favorite. Floracing captioned the post, “🤩 Kasey Kahne has announced his plan to return to full-time status with Kubota High Limit Racing in 2025 #highlimitracing” announcing his full-time return.
Fans commented as such, “This is awesome. 💯” and ” ITS A GOOD DAY TO BE A KASEY KAHNE FAN, We are so back!!”. These comments indicated high anticipation of his performance in the series. Kahne was a beloved figure, especially in dirt racing as it gave fans a glimpse of him outside the traditional NASCAR tracks where he excelled.

Kyle Larson’s High Limit Racing provides Kasey the perfect platform for his return. The sprint car race provides high stakes for the competition, with a schedule of 61 events across the 36 venues and a prize of $5 million for the 2025 season. The series gives enough high stakes for the competitors and Kahne would be looking to dominate, and so are his fans.

On Reddit, fans are discussing his return and showing how enthusiastic they are with their comments on the post, one fan was jubilant at his return, writing, “KASEY KAHNE FRIDAY STRIKES AGAIN, GO CRAZY… FOR KASEY.” Kahne was a fan favorite during his time in the Cup Series, he even won the 2004 Nextel Cup Series Rookie of the Year.
