For casual watchers and outsiders, F1 and NASCAR are just motorsports where drivers get all the safety features required to go racing around the course at crazy speeds with revenue being the kernel, the main driving factor. Well, that narrative is just applesauce, a cock and bull story built by the detractors to denounce the sports. 

While the North American Stock Car Racing giant, NASCAR, and open-wheel global behemoth F1 have their distinctions far and wide, drivers often poke fun at each other irrespective of the division or reputation. Recently Xfinity Series driver Parker Kligerman threw one at the entire F1 field using its champion, Max Verstappen by means of a cheeky Mario reference.

Even though, both F1 and NASCAR share the fundamentals of the fastest being the champion of them all, there are many distinctions that set both factions apart. Truth be told, comparing the two is futile.

However, it is often seen that drivers from both promotions pretty much share similar ideals and characteristics. While this cannot be attributed to every driver across both organizations, many racers possess a knack for delivering quick wits. 

Xfinity driver and NBC pit reporter Parker Kligerman’s recent ‘X’ post is a perfect example to prove our point here. In his recent tweet, the 33-year-old pokes fun at the entire F1 field, deeming that it is more or less like a Mario cart video game for the 3-time champion racing against the current line-up of drivers in F1.

Fans chime in with their takes as the driver’s Verstappen reference goes viral 

The full-time Xfinity Series driver’s post received a wide range of comments with fans taking a liking to the hilarious reference. Some even called out the driver and his girlfriend for belittling racers. 

Others chimed in with quirky animations with one fan picking up the maniacal laughter meme from the popular gangster flick, Goodfellas. 

Some fans even took a sly jab at Kligerman, posting a zoomed-up image of the driver’s face from the same post as a comment. 

On the other hand, another fan highlighted the 33-year-old’s fascination with the reigning, defending champion, “Jesus dude, you have a weird fascination with Verstappen lmao” 

While other users called out the driver and his girlfriend, “Yes, I think you should stick to the games. Give the real drivers the track to race on. You suck at it” ,“Perfect, let her do a few laps buddy. Good luck this coming year”.
