Those who follow motorsports around the globe know about Red Bull and how they have successfully made their mark in a number of big motorsports competitions. It is perhaps the most prominent in Formula One where they are simply unbeatable. They did have a team in NASCAR but that venture was not successful. However, one of their biggest market rivals is a massive entity in NASCAR today, and one of their more recent announcements has fans even more excited than they already were for the upcoming race weekend at the iconic Talladega Superspeedway.
Red Bull might not be a part of the NASCAR Cup Series today, but they were a big part of the sport in the second half of the 2000s decade. The team made its debut in the Cup in 2006 and said its farewell in 2011. During their six years in the Cup Series, Red Bull Racing won two races including an inspirational Brian Vickers victory at Michigan in front of 110,000 people in 2009, which saw him beat the great Jimmie Johnson. In their penultimate race in the Cup in 2011, Kasey Kahne took the checkered flag for Red Bull Racing at Phoenix, ensuring that they went out of the competition on a high.

As mentioned earlier, tough competition is not the only thing that has fans excited. The other thing is Riley Herbst, or more specifically, his car. Herbst is a full-time driver in the Xfinity Series, driving the #98 car for Stewart-Haas Racing. He is also a part-time driver in the Cup Series and he will be taking on those duties this coming weekend at a track that most drivers would love to experience competing on at the highest level.
Herbst will drive the #36 car for Front Row Motorsports but there will be something different about his car, something that fans have been calling for for quite a long time now.
The full-time Xfinity Series driver is sponsored by one of Red Bull’s biggest rivals, Monster Energy, and over the years, fans have been tired of the paint scheme they employ on the cars of their drivers. The black and green color scheme may be iconic, but it has been used to the point of exhaustion and fans have been crying out for something new.
It is the same with every single NASCAR driver that is sponsored by the brand. Retired racer Kurt Busch had the classic black body with the green Monster logo and number. Hailie Deegan’s truck is also the same, only her car number is written in white. It’s the same story for the #45 of Cup driver Tyler Reddick and the #54 of Ty Gibbs.
Riley Herbst’s #98 in the Xfinity Series also has that same black and green paint scheme, but the $57.25 billion worth brand has finally decided to stray from their traditional colors a bit and treat fans to something new.
In a new advertisement, the beverage brand revealed that Riley Herbst’s #36 for the Talladega Cup race will be white and light blue.

Dubbed the White Haze, the color scheme had fans going absolutely bonkers on Reddit as they finally got a Monster Energy-sponsored car which was not that same old black and green. The #36 looks absolutely sick. No wonder NASCAR fans went absolutely bonkers on social media.
Fans go ballistic over new Front Row Motorsports car
A lot of the discussion about the car was held on Reddit where the advertisement revealing the paint scheme was posted by a fan. Monster Energy will be quite happy with the reaction and different paint schemes is something that they might very well try out more frequently in the future.
“The madlads actually did it. Bravo, Monster! Thanks for branching out!” commented one user.
“I wish Monster did this more. All the different schemes we could have had on Kurt Busch, Hailie Deegan, Herbst, Tyler Reddick or Ty Gibbs cars,” wrote another.
There were some users who could not believe that Monster Energy actually shifted away from their patented black and green, so create something that looked equally as good.

“I thought nonblack Monster schemes were illegal,” commented a user while another expressed their relief at the latest development, commenting, “Finally! A non black monster scheme!”
The ad itself was largely popular and Riley Herbst’s acting skills were commended by the NASCAR faithful, with one fan even relating themselves to the driver.
“That was actually some pretty good acting by Herbst lmao,” chimed another.

Safe to say that Monster Energy got the reaction that they had hoped for. Perhaps in the future, fans will see more color schemes from the beverage brand for its NASCAR cars.
