With the curtains finally falling on the NASCAR National Series, stock car enthusiasts certainly feel a void. Even though the Fords completed a round, winning all three divisions, and establishing their dominance, ardent NASCAR fans will have to wait till next year for their favorite promotion to commence its bonanza.
However, fans aren’t just feeling anxious about the 2024 iteration. In the absence of the organization’s events, its main competitor and global superpower, Formula 1 is readying its guns, launching its inaugural event in Las Vegas.
While F1 is all set to make its Vegas debut with a street race amidst the glitz and glamour of the gambling town, NASCAR fans are trolling Xfinity Series for their social media post, saying, “shots fired damn” as the promotion’s anxiety gets exposed in the open.

NASACAR’s absence raises questions as Formula 1 bandwagon heads to Vegas
Global motorsports giant, Formula 1 is bang on its target with its timing being absolutely perfect. Merely a week after the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing concluded its season with all 3 of its major series ending, F1 is making its way into America to Las Vegas, the gambling city aka the Sin City.
After a 40-year-long hiatus, the open-wheel extravaganza is returning to Vegas in what could be a giant leap for the promotion. In fact, the night race is most probably going to break all norms, already becoming one of the most anticipated motorsports events across the world. However, with the F1 making its grand entry into its territory, featuring a night spectacle across the Vegas strip, NASCAR seems to have gone into panic mode.

The organization’s second-tier promotion, Xfinity Series has tweeted out a post that seems to highlight NASCAR’s anxiety and this has got its fandom brutally trolling it. While the organization tweeted out to promote F1’s spectacle, NASCAR’s apparent fear of missing out (FOMO) has caused its fans to turn against it as they await the F1 showdown at the entertainment capital.

Fans brutally roast NASCAR, deeming it a “sh*t show”
Though the differences are night and day at the end of the day, both Formula 1 and NASCAR are racing fans’ sources of entertainment. While one is more of an international power with F1 spreading its wings across the global landscape with multiple venues across the world, NASCAR is comparatively a regional power as to speak.
Despite its efforts to go international, NASCAR needs to do more work to establish its roots across the world. Compared to open-wheel racing, stock car racing and its unique oval tracks are more of a relatively new concept for the average racing fan across the globe. But, the organization is making major leaps towards closing that gap, featuring a Next-Gen car in its Le Mans debut earlier this year, captivating the crowd with its roaring American V8 singing its tune.

However this time around, fans did not take any of that into consideration as they denounced the organization’s post with brutal online trolls. One fan said, “The Xfinity cars can’t make it around Martinsville without it being a complete sh*t show imagine this lol.”
Much like the traditionalists who argue that the sport is straying away from its core values, a user commented this – “Why not?” has basically been Nascar’s philosophy in recent years, which is why we keep getting gimmicks that fans hate.”
Whereas another pointed out the organization’s FOMO, “Aw someone’s a little jealous,” while an F1 fan urged the promotion to show the American how it’s done, racing in a street course, “LFG. Let’s show them how it’s done.”
