Red Bull kicked off the 2023 F1 season in style as Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez secured a one-two during the Bahrain GP last week. The dominating form from the last two seasons has continued for Verstappen, who led almost all the laps during the course of the race. Despite a $7 million penalty for a budget cap breach and a 10% reduction of wind tunnel time, many experts believe the total control from the Milton Keynes outfit is expected to stretch this season as well. Recently, NASCAR veteran Denny Hamlin too made a huge prediction about Red Bull’s fate this season while acknowledging the development Christian Horner’s team has shown in recent years.

Denny Hamlin recently joined co-host Jared Allen on the Actions Detrimental podcast. During the conversations, Allen asked the Joe Gibbs Racing driver if he had seen the latest season of Netflix’s “Drive to Survive,” leading Hamlin to express how impressed he was with the Red Bull team.

In the recent iteration of the Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny Hamlin made a massive prediction about Red Bull’s performance this year after watching the team’s domination in the pre-season testing. While responding to Jared Allen’s question, the 23XI Racing co-owner said, “Just started it. I mean, apparently, the Red Bull team’s just gonna win every race unless something crazy happens.”

Moreover, Hamlin revealed that Red Bull’s RB19 had a much more efficient Drag Reduction System(DRS) than their competitors across the grid. The three-time Dayton 500 winner stated, “Like Red Bull, it reduced 20% of their drag like everyone else, the next highest total was like 17%. So, their cars are so fast compared to the competition.”

Further, Denny Hamlin also gave a hilarious take on why Red Bull cars were so much faster than the other teams. The #11 Toyota driver shared, “ I’m like, “If I knew, I’d call those other teams and tell them.’ But I think, you know, everyone in the garage is wondering what makes their car so fast.”

Additionally, Hamlin suggested that the amazing progress that Red Bull have made in terms of aerodynamics and new powertrains was likely the reason they are so far ahead on the grid. Meanwhile, Hamlin also shared his take on the possibility of Lewis Hamilton winning his eighth championship.

Hamlin’s take on Hamilton’s championship-winning chances

During the conversations, the co-host Jared Allen pointed out that Red Bull and Max Verstappen’s continued domination was a huge hit to Lewis Hamilton‘s chances of winning an eighth championship and creating history in the world of racing. In response, Hamlin reckoned that it was nearly impossible for the seven-time F1 champ to win another championship, given the gap between Mercedes and Red Bull. He did not feel the Silver Arrows could close the gap to Red Bull over the course of a single season.
