Lewis Hamilton is what many would consider motorsport royalty. He is a driver with more wins and podiums than any other F1 driver. On top of that, he is tied with the F1 icon, Michael Schumacher in terms of world titles, with both of them having a whopping seven World Drivers’ Championship titles. But, will he fair well in NASCAR?
Unfortunately, Formula one drivers have not always had the best fate in stock cars. Maybe besides Mario Andretti, who won his first and only NASCAR race back in 1967. But he is also one driver who has won a race in Formula One, IndyCar, the World Sportscar Championship, and NASCAR.
But other than that, there are not any F1 drivers giving a good ride in the Cup Series. However, Dale Jr thinks Hamilton can change that.

In an episode with the, I AM ATHLETE podcast, Junior talked about having Hamilton in a Formula One car. Would he change the unfortunate wave of sad performances by Formula One drivers? Well, he sure thinks he can adapt. In fact, this is how Dale Jr described him, “He’s elite, he’s like that one-of-a-kind guy,”
And when asked what makes a driver elite, the Hall of Famer simply said, “He’s got a magic.”
But does this “magic” mean he will be able to run in a stock car around an oval track? Well, according to the JR Motorsports owner, “He’s the kind of guy that applies himself across the board, plus he has the factor, that raw speed. So, I think he would figure it out.”

The seven-time world champion asserted, “I’m fully committed to F1 at the moment, but I think at some point in the future I might do, like, a guest appearance.”
“But if Puma (Lewis Hamilton is a Puma brand ambassador) did it, I think it would look sick.”, “We could make it look so cool. So, yeah, I can’t rule it out at the moment. I also just want to make an appearance in Talladega Nights 2, and I think I’d have to be in NASCAR for that.”
