Kyle Busch shares some interesting take with Chase Elliott coming off of his injury
Kyle Busch, is no stranger to adversity, be it his infamous crash in 2015 at Daytona or anything on the track, Busch has managed to come out on top.
Now with the #5 Hendrick Motorsports driver making his return to the oval after a six-week gap following an unfortunate snowboarding accident in Colorado, Rowdy has some pointers for the driver.
During a pre-race press conference ahead of this week’s race, a reporter had a very intriguing question, with both drivers involved in several incidents, he asked, “Chase said that while he was out that he talked to you, what was that conversation and are you happy that he’s back?”
To which Busch elaborated on the brief conversation, saying, “Yeah, we just talked a little bit back and forth about my experience of my injury and what stuff was like. Everybody’s injuries are different, but my injury was different than his leg injury. It was actual more similar to my foot, where I had plates and screws in my foot.”
Also citing the significance of such an injury he added, “It was not always the easiest to endure a race with the left foot and braking and all that sort of stuff. His is more knee and joint related. If he runs the whole race, he’s going to be sore afterwards. It’s just not easy to jump right back in and go. Even in my fifth week when I won at Sonoma, I couldn’t walk afterwards, it hurt so bad.”
Furthermore, Busch even welcomed Elliott back, “Welcome him back, it’s great to have him back. I think a lot of his fans missed him and want to see him back in the car.”

Roedy has had his tough times as well, during the NASCAR Xfinity Series back in 2015, Kyle in his #54 racecar was in the 5th position when he tried a move that later proved to be costly.
In an effort to push ahead, Busch looked for an opening but the stacked row of cars speeding at treacherous speeds was too much as the driver lost control of his car and eventually slammed into the inside wall, breaking his left and sidelining the driver for a brief time that year.
In the presser, Busch said, “When you’re in a racecar, you’re hitting that brake pedal and you’re pushing that: you’re pushing load through all of those joints down through the brake pedal. It’s going to be an uncomfortable scenario for him for the next little bit and what all happens. But again, I’m no medical expert or doctor, so I dont really know.”

“Just from my experience, that’s how it was for me. It wasn’t always pleasant with the plates and the screws for the whole year until I got them out. When I got them out and I walked out of the hospital, I was like – damn, I feel good..this feels like a brand new foot.” he said.
