Last week’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Road America was won by Ty Gibbs in a spectacular fashion. He overtook Kyle Larson with two laps to go. Larson did attempt to get past Ty at the last lap but remained unsuccessful. Some suggest Larson’s decision to back off from the lead might have been intentional.

TJ Majors spoke at Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Dirty Mo Media Podcast and expressed his view regarding the same. Reflecting back to last week when Sam Mayer and Ty were racing each other, it seemed like Ty deliberately tried to shove Sam into the front wall. So it could be a possibility that Larson might have deliberately backed off from challenging for the lead. He might have thought Ty would attempt the same maneuver again.

Speaking in the matter, TJ Majors said, “Maybe Kyle was excepting just to be wrecked and not make that make that last corner, so he was kind of caught off guard.”

They further discussed that Ty has been maturing over the year with his association with Austin Payton and others. But he needs to align with what he says out of the car and his actions on track.
