Is Brad Keselowski making a genius move by eyeing a third charter for his team?

As per Brad Keselowski, “Three [charters] is definitely the best number [to have]”. And while he is clear on that front, his allegiance to a specific team is less clear, as he appears to be torn between options, swinging like a pendulum. Charters are currently all the rage in NASCAR! Moreover, they were further moved into the spotlight after Tony Stewart’s shocking SHR disbandment. Front Row Motorsports capitalized readily on the opportunity and bagged one of SHR’s charters. Teams like RFK and 23XI were expected to follow behind, yet Keselowski was not interested in that area of the market.

Brad Keselowski in an interview confessed that if someone told him to go put a young driver in (a Cup car), make him a star, and here’s all the money to do it- a certain Trackhouse prodigy would have been the guy! However, in an exclusive chat with EssentiallySports, the official media partners of Real American Beer at Pocono, the RFK Racing co-owner had pretty different things to say.

Did Brad Keselowski roll back on his charter comments?

Kyle Larson & HMS Are Planning to Return to Indy 500 Next Year. But Should They?

Yes! It Is Great for NASCAR

No, It Was a Disaster This Time

During a conversation with Kevin Harvick on his ‘Happy Hour’ podcast, the RFK Racing boss dropped a massive bomb surrounding NASCAR’s next big thing, Connor Zilisch. Keselowski went on to reveal how Zilisch was “the guy” he would pick to build a Cup Series career, given money was not an issue. But it seems the potential of a third charter acquisition has swayed the veteran’s mind. And well, understandably so, as charters are no less than the holy grail for teams.

With charter talks rampant in NASCAR’s garage, Brad Keselowski exclusively revealed his true thoughts on Zilisch to EssentiallySports’ team at the Pocono Raceway.

When Bharat Aggarwal of EssentiallySports asked if Zilisch could be the driving force behind his piqued interest in a third RFK Racing charter, Keselowski made a surprising remark. “I mean, I wouldn’t say that he’s the only reason. There’s a lot of reasons we’re interested in a third charter. Like it’s good for us as a company, everything we’re trying to do,” revealed the RFK Racing boss.

Although there aren’t any doubts surrounding Connor Zilisch’s racing pedigree, Keselowski refused to single him out as the only extraordinary talent. Keeping in mind Zilisch’s racing abilities, the NASCAR veteran went on to say, “But you know, there’s talented guys out there available that we would like to be in position for, and he’s certainly one of them.”
