Many say Danica Patrick can be considered to be one of the greatest female racers in American motorsports. Patrick is the only woman to have ever won a race in IndyCar when she won in the 2008 Indy Japan 300. The former race car driver is considered by many to be a living legend. However, Billy Venturini made a shocking revelation about her in an exclusive interview with EssentiallySports.

The 41-year-old had a long stint in the NASCAR Cup Series which saw her race for Stewart-Haas Racing for six seasons. In that time, her most notable achievement was winning pole position for the Daytona 500 in 2013. Her best race result in the competition came in 2014, a P6 finish in Atlanta. However, she has never won a race in the competition.

To Billy Venturini, a racing career can only be successful with race wins. And Patrick’s winless career is exactly what Billy Venturini takes issue with. The owner of Venturini Motorsports said that while he acknowledges Danica Patrick’s achievement in the sport, the lack of a race victory does not make her feel like a success to him. Some people might not take the 47-year-old’s comments too well but he does raise a valid point.

“Well, Danica is another one, she never won anything. Sorry, she’s great, she’s the best female that has come up in the NASCAR ranks in a long, long time and obviously the most experienced, the most established but she never won a thing.

“And I’m sorry, you gotta win. If you can’t win at that level, I can’t sign off that you’re a success. I’m sorry but you gotta win. You can be competitive and it’s nice but if you want to be a success, you have to win,” the Venturini Motorsports owner said.

Billy Venturini has a simple philosophy when it comes to Venturini Motorsports which he revealed in his exclusive interview with EssentiallySports. The motorsports veteran believes that one can either be a winner or they can’t. That is the only thing that matters when it comes to motor racing.

“I kind of tell everyone, there is no moral victories inside this building. Either we hang the banner, or we don’t. If we don’t hang the banner, we lost, period. If we hang the banner, we’re the winner, don’t care what anyone else said,” the 47-year-old added.

The 47-year-old had recently announced the signing of Kris Wright for the ARCA Menards Series in a full-time capacity. With this move, he drew the ire of racing fans who were all too familiar with Wright’s driving style.

Kris Wright was a part of the NASCAR Truck Series in the 2023 season. He drove for Young’s Motorsports in the competition and will leave the team after just 11 starts and zero top-10 finishes. He was one of those drivers frequently involved in crashes and fans were quick to jump on to that point.

However, Billy Venturini seems to have complete faith in the 29-year-old. The motorsports veteran believes that Wright has what it takes to be a regular contender in the ARCA Menards Series. “Kris Wright has shown impressive speed across a wide range of tracks since joining Venturini Motorsports. I believe he has a strong chance to contend consistently throughout next season’s entire schedule,” he said as per Frontstretch.
