Ford Performance has been a dominant force last week in Richmond. The manufacturing team, which had been on the receiving end of criticisms for the major part of the season, has finally shown signs of a rebound. The Blue Oval reinforced that they can still be a strong contender for the championship this season, with Chris Buescher clinching his first title in the season.
Speaking of Chris Buescher and his team RFK Racing, the victory came as a breather for them in order to prove the fact their relevance in the grid among the other established and championship-winning teams. Although the co-owner of the team Brad Keselowski is yet to notch a victory and concretize his playoff berth, the veteran Cup Series driver Kyle Petty firmly believes that Keselowski and his team would be able to re-write the course of their fate, in their home track in Michigan.

With NASCAR flying to the tracks of Michigan, to race on its 2-mile-long D-shaped track, the teams are ready to step on the throttle and maintain their winning momentum in the fourth-last race of the regular season. Moreover, the race at Michigan shall play a pivotal role in determining the fates of the drivers who are yet to make it above the cutline, including the golden boy of NASCAR, Chase Elliott.
Nevertheless, with the hopes still burning for the HMS driver to lock himself in the playoffs, but, for the former Hendrick Motorsports driver and Cup Series champion Kyle Petty, it is Brad Keselowski that holds a hallowed position and has the highest odds of winning the race at Michigan, the home track for both Keselowski and Roush Fenway.
In a candid conversation with NASCAR insiders, Dustin Long and Park Kilgerman, Petty expressed, “I am gonna go RFK and Brad Keselowski. Here’s a guy that has gone here a million times. Here’s a guy who is winless for so long that wants to win that race so bad and we are going to a Ford track. Think we have seen some bright spots out of RFK and he made a mistake last week on Pit Road that he will never make again.”
“He has realized that he has raced out of the top long enough that he needs to be back in the top-4 or 5 and be back at the sharp end of the stick. He comes fully loaded for Bear to do it in Jack Roush’s Hometown to do it in Blue Oval, to do it for his family, and what Michigan racing and what Michigan has meant to him,” Petty asserted.

However, that did not stop him from celebrating his teammate’s victory on the track of Richmond. He expressed to the media, “I’m happy for Chris. We’re incrementally building. Of course, I want to win as a driver, but I’m happy we’re as competitive as we are. We just want to keep building and keep getting more competitive every week.”
Furthermore, commenting on his desire to win at his home track, Keselowski revealed to the media, “Yeah, Michigan has always been a great track for what was Roush and then Roush Fenway. Hopefully, it will be that way again for RFK. We know it’s not going to be easy. There’s a lot of great competition there.”
