Kyle Busch needed a comfortable finish at the Talladega weekend race to secure his spot in the playoffs. However, unfortunately, the driver was caught on the sidelines when the No. 47 Chevrolet driver for JTG Daugherty Racing, Ricky Stenhouse Jr, suffered an anomaly while on the track.

During the first lap of the race, running in the third position, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. informed his crew that he was out of fuel. As Stenhouse Jr. started slowing down, Kyle Busch, who was right behind him, made contact with the fence before trying to make his way after side-stepping him.

However, things didn’t go as smoothly for Busch, as he quickly fell through the ranks to finally finish 25th. Kyle’s frustration over Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was also on full display. Speaking to his crew over the radio during the race, Kyle made his displeasure known with a sarcastic laugh.

“HA HA HA HA HA! All I can do is laugh, man. Every f***ing time. He ran out of gas,” Kyle said as owner Richard Childress backed him up while taking a dig at Stenhouse Jr. “That damn #47 was going to wreck. No damn doubt about it,” Childress was heard saying.

All it took was a matter of seconds for things to dramatically turn during the Talladega race. Kyle Busch was running up front at number five and seemed pretty confident of a top finish. However, the driver had hardly anticipated that his happiness would be short-lived as Ricky Stenhouse Jr. started slowing down after the apparent fuel shortage. As Busch steered to his left in a bid to go forward, he ended up making contact with Ross Chastain, who veered off into the fence and suffered a crash. Speaking to FOX Sports reporter Bock Pockrass after the race, Kyle expressed his regret over the incident.

“I would suspect he [Ricky Stenhouse Jr.] ran out of fuel, and I was stuck behind him, and he never waved. It was really late by the time I pulled out, tried to pull out as smoothly and as slowly as I could, and caught the 1 [Chastain], so I hate it for the 1 and those guys. It’s what happens every time at the end of a stage,” Kyle Busch said.
