Legacy Motor Club star Erik Jones and his wife, Holly Shelton, recently announced that they are expecting their first child after tying the knot in 2023. Shelton has been active on social media platforms, keeping fans updated about the Jones family’s soon-to-be newest member. Last month, Shelton announced that they were getting a tiny human. The couple is already the parents of their dogs, Oscar and Biscuit.

Sharing more updates about baby Jones, she took to her X account and shared a special picture. What caught everyone’s eye from the image was that the baby was, apparently, posing with three fingers. While it was difficult to guess the meaning behind the gesture of the baby inside the womb, Shelton linked it to NASCAR’s great Dale Earnhardt and his iconic No. 3.

Reacting to the X-ray, she wrote in the caption, “3 FOR DALE.” This was funny considering, his husband, Erik Jones, drives for Jimmie Johnson and Richard Petty’s Legacy Motor Club team.

But paying homage to the iconic No. 3 Chevy and Dale Earnhardt was indeed welcomed by NASCAR fans. They soon started pouring in with their best wishes along with some interesting requests regarding the baby.

As soon as Holly mentioned the Dale Sr reference with the No. 3 car, the fans were quick to ride on the hype train and followed in with their unique suggestion. The most common of all was naming their child Dale, paying homage to the Intimidator’s racing legacy. “Name has to be Dale now!”

It’s no secret that fans do not like the sight of Austin Dillon driving the iconic No. 3 Chevy every week in the Cup Series. But they sure wouldn’t mind Erik Jones Jr taking over the reins of the 3 car, “Future driver of the number 3 car.”

NASCAR fans are some of the most loyal supporters, and they root for their favorite drivers despite their misfortunes on the race track. Luckily, Jones has managed to garner such strong support over the years. However, reacting to her wife’s post on X, a fan wanted baby Jones to follow in his father’s footsteps. So that he has another NASCAR personality he can root for. “Current Erik Jones fan, future Dale Jones fan.”

Holly Shelton, just like Erik, is a passionate race car driver. Over the years, she has competed in the Midget Series on the dirt track. Before she got engaged to the LMC star driver, she was signed to Keith Kunz Motorsports at TRD. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to see baby Jones keeping the family’s racing legacy alive, and this is exactly what the fans are expecting. “Already a racer,” said someone.

Another fan went on to add that the baby was already in sync, acknowledging Dale Earnhardt’s GOAT status, and she couldn’t be happier knowing that. “Tell me that isn’t a NASCAR baby who already understands the assignment!”
